It seams like drifting has been a very hot topic lately.
I think some of you may enjoy this. Call it what you will, but this takes some serious skill.

Very cool video! I know for sure that some of those stunts would never fly in the good old USA
The lawsuits would be brutal if any of those people got hurt (specially the girl-cones in the slalom

Anyway, I think those guys who drive the "drift" cars are very good drivers, they certainly show a lot of skill and control of their cars. Also, the cars are pretty neat, I like the obviously powerful setups, the radical camber, etc.
I'd bet it's not so easy to do. I know that I would not try it without some kind of training.....

Anyone who knows there automotive history understands that drifting is not new in the USA. The Japanese simply made a show out of a technique used in rally racing, and other forms of car activity.

Notice the wording the magazine put. They are pointing out that drifting is now becoming a SPORT and not just a racing technique. I do know that drifting has actually been a motorsports technique since the late '60s in road course racing (not just rally racing). 400 hp 3500 lb cars with solid rear axles and no camber found drifting to be the only way to get around a corner quickly.

I don't want to think about the safety issues in the video. There must not be much litigation in Japan.
