clutch pedal safety start

OK, how many Evo drivers still have the clutch pedal start wire still attached? Was it the first thing you disconnected when you bought your Evo!

I do. Nothing more embarrassing/damaging than starting your car and immediately hopping a curb or smashing into the car in front of you...

He's probably concern more about crank walking! First time you start your car is usually a dry start, so if you put pressure on your clutch, it creates friction between crank and bearings. It might cause and extreme wear that could lead you to crankwalk! It's common on 2g but I never seen one on Evos. Although that is the first thing I did when I bought my Evo! Imagine the cause if you have a heavier clutch which is majority of Evo owners have!
