Weird 2 step question on an evo 8

Ok guys I got a dumb question and haven't found what I was looking for searching. I recently discovered that my 03 had the 2step set at 5500 rpms. So ever since then I have been putting the accelerator to the floor once I stage (car is preloaded) and my 60' times have gotten worse...

I get to playing in my driveway and I notice even with my foot maybe halfway on the throttle it still trips the 2step. And it seems like it launches better that way.

My question is should my 2step be starting without my foot to the floor standing still? I always thought that your foot had to be to the floor to activate the 2 step

I've noticed with my foot down it builds up boost and with my foot not all the way down it doesn't.

You should check the map and log it to see the timing and load in both scenarios. Also how the car will transition from the launch map to the main map could be playing a factor.

You're probably spinning the tires more when launch at WOT off the 2 step. Or your clutch can't hold the torque and is slipping. One of the two..

My car builds 10psi on the 2step at WOT, no launch maps. Just the 2step rev limiter.
