I hand brake with my evo. IT doesn't do shlt. Throttle and brake modulation is a lot better way to control your car than handbraking, I think.

Yeah, I guess he likes replacing his transfer case... just hope he doesn't plan on taking it to the dealership for warranty work. Too many dishonest people screwing Mitsu over on warranty work after fooling with their cars like this, methinks.

No I don't like screwing up my T case, but if you haven't done it and you know someone's friends cousins car that replaced the T case because Handbraking, i don't believe it.

You're obviously not the expert or ASE Certified/triple diamond Mitsu mechanic, so I think your subjective and offensive presumption should be kept to your damn self.

Have you used your handbrake before on an EVO on drifting or sliding? I don't think so, cause you're scared of what you HEard.

I've personally done it multiple times. My tranny don't whine, clutch modulation is fine and nothing happened.

So, if you're gonna say something, say something valid, instead of BSing out of your ignorant a-hole.

P.O.S.

oh, wait, you don't even have an EVo. lol. chump.

Not only that, I've done this numerous times on my prelude. I've never had any hint of problem with my prelude (5th gen H22a FWD) on clutch or the drive train for 60,000 miles.

unless ricer boppers are trying to 'drift' in a AWD car looking to blow your diff then asking mommy and daddy to pay a shop to fix it..

EDIT: if you want to get your car sideways, get a RWD (right wheel drive) car..

I said both on FWD and AWD. Sorry to dissapoint you, but I pay for all my stuff.

I've never heard of people breaking Differential on Handbraking. I've never broke a differential on handbraking.

And that quote is dumb, like you.

You don't handbreak with an Evo with a viscous slip limited diff for the same reason you don't tow it with only two wheels. The viscous slip diff will have issues - it's not an opinion, it's a fact. It can't handle that extreme a differential in speeds, especially not for any extended period or regularly. If you have an electronic center diff, that's fine, because those are supposed to be disengaged when you pull the handbreak, but the viscous slip ones just wear and tear fast.

You throttle real hard on toward the corner, brake hard, turn fast and throttle half way into the corner and control throttle while counter steering.

That's how you go side ways on AWD.

On a FWD, bit more difficult. Have to do a lot of throttle and counter steer on a lower gear.

Who said anything about handbraking for a prolong period? You handbrake just before you turn for a brief moment to shift your rear weight.

Plokivos did... not sure how you missed the the fact that he's posted to this thread more than anyone else as of late, regarding his own experience handbraking his Evo.
