0300 code reflash alert !
I had the dreaded Po300 code several times on my 04, returned to dealer for reflash, SES light woud come on everytime I got on the gas in 5th. Light would go off after a couple days, sometimes on, sometimes off Returned to dealer when new mitsu update came out last May. Have not had problem since. Car is all stock waiting for ($$$) to upgrade.
Glad to hear Al can perform his surgery to the Mitsu reflash.

ok i'm trying to see if i can get a quick reply here
have to find out for sure before making appointment for next week's custom tune at buschurs'
my car's got the misfire code ever since the mail in flash too
if i reset the battery, it'll go away, but then the engine light would come back on when going 5th gear on highway, ...so hope i'm experiencing the same problem as everyone else does here
my question is, should i take the car back to dealer for a update flash to fix this code problem?
or Al will be able to deal with it during a custom tune next week??
thanks in advance

I plan on getting flashed very soon but I have just gotten the p0300 code yesterday. From all the searching and reading it seems that everyone kind of accepts this problem and continues to mod as if it is normal. I guess I am just concerned about putting all this money into my car and dropping 400 bucks on a custom tune and then possilby having to deal with the p0300 after my flash. Are my concerns legitimate or am I just worrying too much? I am going to get the dealer reflash this weekend hopefully but I want the problem solved not just swept under the rug. Anyway, do you guys think this problem will resurface again after my tune and if so, what do you suggest I do about it?
I threw a P0300 code and it turned out that the MAF sensor needed to be cleaned and I had a boost pipe that wasn't installed all the way. I went to the dealer for the updated flash before I found out what the problem was and got the updated flash. Now i just need to geth reflashed again.
Here is the information as far as a TSB goes I got the info from ALLDATA. there are two TSBs associated with the P0300 issue:
TSB#: TT115-13-001
Engine Controls - DTC P0300 Resets After Reprogramming
Notes
SOURCE: Mitsubishi Tech Talk Article April/May 2005
TITLE: DTC P0300 Resetting After Reprogramming
APPLIES TO: 2003-04 Lancer Evolution
SERVICE TIP:
There have been some reports of DTC P0300 being reset after the PCM has been reprogrammed. Be sure that you reflashed the PCM with the latest software (database N05021, see TSB-05-13-003). Also verify that the ROM ID is current (964111 for 2004 models; 941715 for 2003 models).

Thanks for the info. I will make sure I research this all thoroughly over the next day or so. From what I gather the p0300 could be something as minor as a spark plug or something a lot more major and the problem could reoccur soon or not at all. All I know is, a few days before the SES came on the car bucked hard forward under acceleration onto the highway in 4th gear and it was not even at WOT. It felt like the car died for half a second then came back to life. This happened twice only and both within the last month and both after the car sat outside in heavy rain all night. Hopefully I get this all straightened out because I drive my car like it is meant to be driven but I still baby it pretty much and this really bothers be. But I dont want to totally get off the Dynoflash topic. I just want to be assured that this is not a severe problem so that I can be confident in getting a custom tune without wasting the money on one due to this stupid P0300 issue.
