0300 code reflash alert !
ON 2003 AND NOW 2004 EVOS
Most people who get the Dyno Flash do not have 0300 code issues and originally we thought we had eliminated the problem through revised tuning. However, there are some cars which have a serious 0300 code issue which Dyno Flash was unable to eliminate in the past.
This is the procedure - those who have 0300 code issue
Go to dealer ask then for free o300 code reflash update THERE ARE TWO FOR THE 2003 and ONE for the 2004 - all of which I now support
Then send in ecu to Dyno Flash for a revised Dyno Flash which works on top of the new 0300 code base program
Customer pays a $50 adminsirative and shipping fee which includes Fed Ex overnight return shipping
This DOES NOT eliminate the 0300 codes from comming but it does help them on many cars.
If anyone has any questions - please call
Finally - everyone sending in ecus for a Dyno Flash - IF you have had the 0300 code update from please indicate this in your list of mods - thanks (I ususally catcah them by the sum code of tha data - but it does not hurt to remind me)

Those with a base or through the mail flash could either get the same flash they got before - OR pay the upgrade fee $100 and get a revised flash for thier new mods

2004 EVO 0300 CODE UPDATE !!!!!!!
has released a updated 0300 code flash which is specifically for the 2004 Evos ONLY. We just discovered this new flash today when we attemped to install our flash into a 2004 evo with this new flash. Our current 2003 "revised program" 0300 code update which we have been using on 2003 Evos with the 0300 code update is NOT compatable with the new 2004 0300 code update.
I will begin work on updating our 2003 0300 code data tomorrow and I should have the 2004 0300 code update ready in about 2 weeks.
I think there will be VERY FEW 2004's rolling about with an updated flash from the dealer - however - it is important to note that I will be unable to service those ecus for the next 2 - 3 weeks.
If you have any questions about your ecu and compatability with our flash please feel free to give me a call.
- NOTE - * This only applies to 2004 evos which have been re-flashed by the dealer for a 0300 code complaint -

Al,
I am planning to get the base flash. I have an 03 Evo. Is there anyway to check to see if it will have the 0300 code issue? Should I go to dealer ask then for free 0300 code reflash update just to be on the safe side before the reflash?
Thanks

Al, I want to send my ecu out in the next week or two but I dont have the flash yet and both dealers in town have told me that they do not have the updated 03 flash (they did know of it though). My car only misfires very rarely on th highway, so I only run into it on longer runs. I would really rather wait until I get the improved factory flash and then get yours but I want the ecu tuned before I take my trip down south with the evo. I guess my question is, if I get the mail in flash and then the new 03 flash is available should I even bother with it? This is assuming the misfire does not go away. My car still runs good right now, I just want the mail in for peace of mind (and to run the walbro pump I have waiting) plus a few extra ponies too, but I am wondering would it be worth it to wait until I get the factory update first? Thanx in advance.

You should check back with your dealer as there is a new reflash recall now available for 2003's

I have heard if you get the new reflash, it locks up you ECU so it cannot be retuned. Is this true? We are going to have Dynoflash come out hopefully in a month or so, and don't want to get the reflash if it locks up.

Al,
I am a part of the Chicago tune on 6/4.
About the P0300 mitsu reflash. All of the mitsubishi service dept around here in Michigan only seem to know they have the latest reflash available but cannot seem to verify the actual release number you gave me (MN132874_2). I had recieved the reflash about a year ago now, so I am assuming that is so old you can't write over it, right? I was planning on dropping into the dealership near my place and just getting it reflashed with the latest they have. Is this a good plan? Or no?!!!

PO300 means random misfire. Evos have a problem with setting this code and the dealer flashes the ecu with their "fix" to stop this code from coming up.
