No tuning on a dyno? I know your prefer road tuning but I, for one, like to see readable results. I wouldnt want to drop $100+ to dyno my car before the tune, then $400 to have it road tuned then another $100 to redyno it to see the results

I can get equal results on a road tune or dyno tune.
Both have their own advantages and disadvantages and the one which I am most comfortable with when I am travling is road tuning. The main reson is unfamilarity with a particular dyno which can make it very difficult to replicate real world loading conditions.
My car makes a serious amount of power - a boat load for a 2.0 L and I tune it 90% on the street. In fact - the only real tuning that counts on my car is the tuning that is done at the track.
Also - generally - I take 2 hours to tune a car and when renting dyno time on other dynos it can get expensive to pay for 2 hours of dyno time. I feel when I do it on the road I can get just as good a result when I take my time and can really test the car out under a wide range of operating situations.
Remember we do not drive the car on dynos - its run on the road. That is why sometimes after you are dyno tuned you can have problems. I understand wht you are aprehensive after reading your recent posting - https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=108588.
Those who want dyno tuning with me can come to my home dyno shop at Pruven where I have negotiated very favorable rates for dyno time and I can take 2 - 3 hours on the dyno if needed to get a perfect tune. Also - I have tuned hundreds of cars on that dyno so I know how it compares to a real world load.

I was not questioning the road tune itself as I have read all the threads on the subject.
I know road tuning can yield great results. I was just espressing my opinion that I like to see readable results(hp and tq gains, a/f, ect)
I was just inquiring why you werent going to tune on a dyno when you visited. Maybe I should have worded it differently

Its just that in most cases the 2 hours I take adds a needless expense to the tune fr our customers and I am trying to offer a tuning solution at a fair and resonable price.
Rather than rush through 10 or 12 cars in a day spending less than an hour on each one - I personally like to take my time on each car and know that the tune is going to hold over time.
As you may recall my experince at a MD dyno shop did not end up very well when it was 12:00 midnight and I was not happy with the tune and wanting to keep tuning. I usually like to spend as long as it takes to dial in a particular car which in some cases goes very fast and in other cases may take a long time.
When my name is on it - I have to know that it works 100%.

Have you ever tuned on a Mustang Dyno?

However - just as a fore sight - I do not let any tuning shops watch me work on my equipment. I am not about offering a free education to other tuners about how my equipment works.
If you want to set something up we can dial in the initial tune on the road for an hour and then take it on the dyno to fine tune it.
Not to sound negative here as I am very happy with my mail base flash from you.... Just a comment... I would sign up if it was to be “Dyno" flash and not a "road" flash. I think the point of the "Dyno flash" is dyno run to baseline what I have followed by a tune where I can see the results compared to where I started that same day on a dyno of some flavor... A measurable result on a dyno was the selling point behind your flash from the onset as is depicted by the name you chose... Money back promises of gains where the hard facts are compared... That is the concept, correct?
If a road tune were to follow a dyno session as a way to further refine things, great. I am sure there are great results for a road tune for all the reasons stated.... BUT.... There is nothing to compare outside seat of the pants impressions which are very subjective based upon the situation (the tuners driving style, our desire to believe in a HP gain for money spent, etc...) There are no curves showing were things changed for the better or worse.... For me, I want the dyno sheets showing the effects of the parts added before and after the tune on the same dyno.
I also have to say that I have a concern that road tuning "could" be interpreted as "illegal" by the local police and even dangerous to others on the road. I suppose that is dependant upon how it is conducted. I don’t think it would be too effective if the car was driven gingerly during the tune. Just a passing thought… Comments?
Again, this is not an intened bash, just my feelings.

Our local Mitsu dealer sponsers a EVO/Lancer club and we've had some dyno days there. I can throw the idea at the owner and see what he thinks. I know we have a good bit of EVOs in our club...so who knows

Yes - I will be working out a big meet in April with AMS tuning - more of a car meet than tune - but also doing tuning also then as well
This is more of a passing through thing - going to take care of anyone in the area who needs a spring tune up
