Curious about mail in flash vs. custom flash

My car has the following mods:
3" Turboback exhaust with test pipe
2.5" Upper IC Pipe Custom made
1.75" to 2.25" Lower IC pipe Custom made
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Dejontool Intake pipe with Open Air filter
SS Autochrome Exhaust manifold and O2 housing
TurboXS BOV Type H34 (recirc)
MBC set to 19psi (may not be needed after flash)
Stock clutch with 28k (feels fine)

These mods seem pretty common. What could I expect from a custom flash vs. a mail flash? Any WHP or 1/4 times would be great. If you need more information about the mods please let me know. Thanks for your input. I just want to see if the difference is worth the money. If i were to get cams that would be one thing, although with these bolt ons good number should be capable of a mail flash. Also do I still need the MBC? And is it safe to raise the stock rev limiter to 8200 with stock valvetrain and cams(most importantly does it help anything?).
Thanks!!

Joe

I had a set up like that before cams with mail in flash. You're basically at a Buschur stage 2. Should be fine with a mail-in flash. I can't see much point in revving to 8200 on stock cams. You'll just go slower. Stock cams make peak power/torque way way before 8200. You want to rev past the peak torque/hp before shifting, but that's overdoing it on stock cams.

Ok so I will set my shift light at 7k and shift by 7500. That should be fine. Any idea what power numbers I should get with mail in flash with these mods?

Would a custom flash be worth it at this point? I am thinking NO but I want to make sure. Thanks!

PS. What do you think of that Hotchkis rear sway bar?

Great answer.^^^^ I was told the same thing prior to me me upgrading my cams to GSC 264i/272e. You may just want to upgrade your cams to go with your current mods. Seems like there the only things your missing from your good set up. I'm planning to get a custom road tune from AL once he comes to DC now that I just got my cams installed.

Don't know about dyno numbers. Maybe 285-290ish on the mail-in and 300-310 on a custom tune? I like the Hotckis rear bar. It's lighter than stock and makes the handling more neutral. It's cheap too...paid $165 shipped from GSC.

I would always perefer custom tune - if only for peace of mind - an extra 200 for dyno time and verification is worth it to me - just my opinion

For those in distant locations or on a budget the mail in works very well
