Tuning a 100,000 mile evo
Yesterday in MD I had the honor to tune member Redcloud's 2003 evo with the most miles I have ever seen - over 100,000
I was suprized by the great shape his car was in - it was clean and looked great
The car drove really well and it encouraged me that these evos can handle the miles well
The suspension, engine and body was still tight and it was still a blast to drive and still pulled really strong
These evos will last well (if they dont rust)

^Me too, but reading this and reading about EVOONYOASS used EVO running low 12s, helps me to believe that there are good quality used high milage EVOs out there, I hope to be the one to get my hands on one.

Al is right. I had to take off my bumper cover because of a mishap. And when I took off the rear cover I could not believe the amount of rust that the body had where it meets the rear bumper. They did not spray enough paint to protect the metal. The difference in the metals used for the bumper and body creates a rust incubator.
Throw in a little salt and it will be a big problem as time goes by.
Unfortunately removing the rear bumper cover is a pain as it is riveted on.

I had my car completely retuned and cammed with new timing belts at 60K miles.. feels so much better then new.. plus my engine bay is spotless.. only real wear and tear would be paint chips and swirls that dont look so new anymore.
