1/8 mile after base flash

Had my base flash done last saturday and I ran the car tonight at Irwindale speedway. I have always babied the car and have launched at 3500 rpm( fear of damaging clutch). My quickest time before the flash was a 9.2, I don't remember the speed though. But tonight the results were different. My fastest time was 8.860 @77.45mph. This was also achieved at a 3500rpm launch. The flash speaks for itself. I'm really loving the flash! Here's the rest of the info:

R/T .459
60' 1.921
330 5.685
1/8 8.860
MPH 77.45

I agree. I think you got the base flash right before my custom tune last Saturday. My previous best 1/4 mile time was 14.4 at I think 93 mph. Last night I pulled a 13.5 at 103 mph on pump gas (at about 20 psi), and that was going easy on my new clutch. The 1/4 mile time isn't that impressive, but the near one second improvement over my previous time is! Thanks Al... I'll recommend your work to anyone!

You could bring that down even more with a good launch. Still pretty good results I dropped from a 8.4 to a 7.8 with custom tune (both with a crappy 1.8x 60')

CUZ303, that was me before your tune , glad to hear about your results. Very nice improvement. I hope to run the car next weekened at Pomona on the quarter. Maybe I'll get brave next weekend and launch a little harder.

Justchil, just wondering, at what rpm are you launching your car at? I would like to say an 8.4 is attainable for me with a better launch?

1.9 with a 3500rpm launch at irwindale???... maybe the best traction track in so. cal.....if this is true you must be slipping the hell out of the clutch to get a 1.9. hope your wanting a new clutch. Also your e.t was really good for the trap speed only 77 nice work. A couple more ticks at irwindale and a helmet is required (it is nice for the time slip lady to tell you from now on you must have a helmet. Lastly when do they run at pomona i can't seem to get info on there track?

Thanks, one of these days I'll get the launch right(trying to find a proper technique). I was trying to simulate a higher rev regular takeoff. It did not feel like a full slip. I would say it was a combination of a slight slip and drop of a clutch. I couldn't smell the smell of clutch and it would bog at launch. Much practice needed.

As far as Pomona:
It's the Nitto world finals that are taking place Oct 22-23 at pomona. It will come up under www.nhrasportcompact.com .
