quick question

I got a mail-in flash for my 2005 evo and it has the following mods. TBE (catless), Agency Power BOV (full recirc), and intake filter.

I went to a dynoday at topspeed today and was able to put down 287 hp and 274 torque, to be honest I was a little dissapointed by the number I put out, i thought I would be at about 300.

I think the problem could have been that I installed a MBC AFTER the flash and i'm running a different boost setting so it could be throwing off power because of that. Either way, I'm probably going to by full hard pipes for the intercooler and then try to get a custom tune. Is there any guestimate you could make of how much more whp you think I could be making and if it is worth it or not. Thanks a lot Al.

I will load a picture of the dyno graph as soon as my friend scans it.

they aren't too bad.. but my friend dyno'd right before me on the same dyno and everything, an 05 rs, it made 260 whp.. i just think with the mods, i'de have gained more than what i did. (granted, mine probably didn't base line at the same place his did, but still)

you should be very happy with those #s. Quit complaining, I have an 04.

Exhaust probably wont give a stock car any torque, except for that darn power starving cat.

I got a custom tune at TopSpeed from Al (DynoFlash). And I have similiar mods. TurboBack, drop-in, walbro, intake pipe. I do not have a MBC .I got 282whp 281wtq on a 05 Evo. So you are doing great with those numbers. The only thing at the time my downpipe was a 2.5" pipe. Now I got a 3" downpipe.

It all depends on the INDIVIDUAL CAR and the tank of gas in it at th time you get tuned

The top number is almost irrelevant

What is important to me is the shape of the curve and smoothness he boost one

If you wanted more power - just turn up the boost one more psi

If you are relying on a cheap boost gauge they are inaccurate 95% of the time which is why I now use a data logger with on board MAP sesnsor that reads very accurarte

Hey Al, I am planning on getting a SAFC II on top of your flash. Would that be a good combo?

What are your exact mods ? Do you havea fuel pump ? Thanks

It looks like the a/f table is being thrown off by the addition of the MBC which holds a different fuel curve than the boost controlling flash. I think there is room for improvement on your tune.

HKS Hi-Power cat back
Test Pipe
Buschur Racing DP
K&N Intake Filter
Hallman MBC
Agency Power BOV
Walbro 255

I was wondering if there is a certain boost level I could run which would do better with the boost controlling flash I got, for now atleast. How much improvement do you think would be possible? rough estimate that is

send it in i'll provide you with a free revised flash and cover teh return fed ex

The tune is not bad but the a/f curve is not smooth

It is possible that you may have a boost leak and waivering boost
- see how well the boost is holding through a 3rd gear pull

In any event I can improve upon that now that you added the mbc you need a different base tune
