“Service Engine Soon” Light, is it safe to Take to Dealer after Custom Tune?
I got a custom tune Back on May 05, When AL was in PR
Last week I heard the car backfire between shifts at Half boost. And had noticed the idle was a bit rough (more than Usual).
Sunday after I filled up the tank I noticed the car “Service Engine Soon” light was on.
I haven’t check the car for OBD test but did check the fuel tank to make sure it was closed well (According to the Manual)
The car has Only 18k miles and I’m not into trashing cars.
Would it be safe to take the car to the dealer ship to have it check? For that light. Could I loose the tune in the ECU?
What are my options?
What should I check? Or do
Please help
I have to get an Oil change in the next few weeks so anyway I’ll have to take the car.
I’ll appreciate your advice Al
(Note: I ran last night with a Supercharged S2000 and my car feel good, I put about 1.5car length) I'm worried some thing may break if i don’t attend it soon enough

I agree - go to auto zone and have the code read
Alternatively - try just disonecting the battery and seeing if the code comes back
Contact me if you require any further assistance

Yesterday when I got home my Wife had the Evo so I couldn’t take it to get the code checked.
This morning I get into the car and turn it on and the light was gone.
Is this normal?
I didn’t remove the battery nor did anything to it (May be needed a bit of use from a beautiful female driver)

I have a similar question. I recently had a custom tune. On my way home the lowe ic pipe came off, large amount of black smoke came from the exhaust. Shortly after the cel light came on, i had the code pulled and it was a code p0420 (catalyst efficiency below threshold). Help! I have tried resetting it, but after a few hours it comes back on. Need help.
