Thumbs up 363.8TQ/323.3WHP, stock turbo , 91oct

Hi guys,

I just came back from Phoenix and I had my car tuned by Al. I just added a alcohol kit last night and still have the same mods that you can see in my signature.

We got a 363.8tq/323WHP on a Dynomustang at Vividracing. My Evo 8 MR has transformed into a rear wheel drive car.
I , Slowcar and Al went for a test drive/tune and Al got the car sideways a few times..

By the way, the 363.8tq/323.3whp accidentally was deleted by Mitch at Vividracing. I am not trying to lie in this forums, I had many many people that saw my 3 pulls but unfortunately I can only provide 2 of them.

First run: 345.8tq/311.1whp
Second run (after Al tuned it again) 363.8tq/323whp
Last run (Al and I agree to increase the boost to the max) 348tq/313WHP

It looks like in the last run the turbo just put a lot of hot air. My turbo was running at 28psi peak and dropping to 22PSI by red line before and after the alcohol tunning. I identified in the past that my car was boosting serious PSI on the stock turbo. You can find many threads in which I already mentioned that I think I was running very high boost.

What I like the most is that since I had my car tuned by Al back in May I have been running 28PSI on 91 all day long with absolutely no problems of detonation.

Al, You impressed me one more time, you converted my car from a AWD to a RWD "driving alike" street driven car. First mod now is 255 tires all the way around...

.

Happy customer face with happy tuner

The pic of the screen was after my very first run after the road tunning.

Thumbs up

Dude, you have identical mods as my car. When are you taking yours to the dyno?

Al is the Bomb as far is tunning. My car is always safe no matter what.

Congrats Carlos, you are driving a tire shredder torque beast! Got V8? Now its time to get bigger shoes so the car goes back to awd condition.

Two things grabbed my attention on your dyno numbers though:

1. Why did Vivid Racing set up the dyno to STOP the test at 7000rpm??? You could've pick up more HP since your engine achieved its max whp at that engine speed...

2. Your SAE conversion is on the same screen shot: 319.9 whp. 323.3 was before the conversion. When my car was dynoed, it showed 304ish at the top and 300ish at the bottom, therefore 300 was the corrected final figure.

Enjoy your "new" car.

The car looses traction easily, the crazy fast spool up(28psi by 2800rpm), the 264/264 Cams, the short gear ratios on the MR and the instant torque curve with the alcohol kit all kicks in a once making the car loose and very violent.

Al was drifting my car, then I was drifting violently as well when shifting from first to second.

Al took the car to the highway and said: hold on tight. We were 3 in the car and the car was sideways.

I don't expect miracles at the track, before the alcohol my car was running the 12.4 at this altitude. I will be happy if I can get a 12.2@113-114.

I was aiming for 325WHP 340TQ. I am happy with the results

Sergio,

Actually I think my car was making even more power. The curve of power went up from 5750rpm all the way to 7000rpm(that is when the cut off was set on the paper), other wise you can see how much the hp curve was going up again.

Have I had the reading on paer all the way to 8000rpm and we could probably would be talking about a few extra HP.

What I am trying to say is that most cars peak the HP at around 5500 to 7000rpm then you see the line droping in a free fall. What I am saying is that my hp line was ascending strong from 5750 rpm all the way to 7000rpm(when the dyno paper stops showing).

wow, this is nice on 91oct. you can see what i dynoed on a dynojet in colorado on just 91oct. i have an alky kit waiting to get installed. im probably going to upgrade my turbo when i get it installed to one of the garret gt kits or the evo9-20g.

i read that vivid's dyno reads like buschur's, so would this be around 380whp and 430wtq on a dynojet? any dyno numbers before the alky?

No, unfortunately I couldn't have my car dyno before the alcohol was installed or even tuned. There were some serious issues about the Shop opening on time.

I am not going to get into details because I don't want to hurt shops reputation, all I can say is that it was not Al's fault.

I was going to have my car dyno like this:

1) with all my previous mods but alcohol kit disable
2) same mods plus alcohol kit engaged
3) same mods plus alcohol kit engage and tuned

Do you trap 115 on 91oct, or have you been to the track at your current power level? Occasionally, places at altitude use correction factors to account for the altitude, so the numbers aren't exact. Just wondering if your power on 91oct is really that high...it's higher than most cammed cars on 93oct.

What are your mods so we can be on the same page?

Also, why did you get tune on 100OCT?, do you have multiple maps? My goal as always been 91Oct no matter what.

Al was tunning all night until 0400am. This guy really knows what he is doing.
I am coming back for a tunning on the Evo 9. So far I am very very happy with his reliable tunnings.
