300.7 Whp / 287.5 Wtq

I have a 2006 IX MR and last week I got the base Dynoflash (thanks Al) and had The Speed Factor (local shop) install a Forge MBC and a Boost Gauge. I just had the car Dyno'd on a Mustang Dynamometer (at Curry's) and am very very pleased . As the title suggests, I hit (at the wheels) 300.7 whp @ 6750 rpm and 287.5 wtq @ 3250 rpm.

Peak boost was 21.8 lbs right around 4767 rpm (nice ).

The AFR numbers looked a bit strange (according to the Tech) because towards redline it gets a bit lean - a tad over 12 at 6887 rpm. Thoughts???

The car feels great and other than the AFR numbers I am super happy....

over 12 AFR? That's a bit past being "a bit lean". Was this via the dyno's wideband in the tailpipe? Are you running a cat?

Well im guessing that you got the baseflash prior to getting the mbc? Then I would imagine it would be lean up top because the flash controlled boost will taper in the higher rpm and the mbc will help in stopping the high rpm taper, which mean your running more boost in the higher rpm then you were with the baseflash which is causing the lean.

Wow you mad 300hp with a base flash and no exhaust or anything. Are you running 93 octane or 91.

I just got a custom flash this weekend and my after the flash is leap and bounds better then before the flash in every gear especially from 3300 to 7800 rpm.

Tailpipe reading...and yes I have the stock exhaust and emissions...The flash and MBC were all done at the same time. Al gave me the flash for the specific setup for MBC and 93 octane.

The mechanics thought it was a bit lean at the higher end.....I will post the graphs shortly.

Wideband in the tailpipe on a car with a cat usually shows tad leaner readings then before the cat would.

In some cases wideband's can be off

Send me the dyno sheet so I can look at it

The TQ seems a bit low - what kind of boost gauge did you have ?

Those are insane numbers, especially for a Mustang dyno (known to read low). Congrats!

Just to clear up a few things, this MD reads like a Dynojet. IX are doing 250-255whp in stock form. Chris still got huge gains from just the flash and MBC, but I don't want people to think this is a low-reading MD.

Also, Al, the reason why the torque is low, imo, is because he didn't hit peak boost unti 4750. For whatever reason, both Chris and Josh's IXs are having the boost go up, then down, then back up higher before doing the natural taper. So, when Chris hit his peak torque at 3250, that was only 18-19psi. If he was spiking to 21-22psi like normal, then tapering down like normal, I bet his peak torque would have been 310 or so at 3400rpm...

We have to figure out why the boost is behaving strangely on these IXs, though...

Thanks for clearing that up Warrtalon. I was under the impression that this Mustang dyno was a low reading one.

Cool

hey WAR, is it a possibility that when the boost hits erratically-that is when the MIVEC is changing the events to the cam??

Did he try curshing the BOV as I suggested yet ?

Also - I would check tthe install on the mbc - take it apart make sure the spring is seated properly and the ball is not sticking - try applying some slight oil on the ball and see if that helps

Also - boost leask test is a no brainer

BTW - I fully expect Evo IX's to make 300 whp in stock form with the flash - if the boost condition is fixed then it should do 300 / 300
