Yea Al said my manifold helped so much, he set my boost to spike 20.9 and dropped to 18 at redline but he said it pulled so hard on the top end he had to add a ****load more fuel up top than any other car that day.
Tim, I wish i could run you again after i got tuned.. OH man!

Anyways i had a terrible trip home. Halfway through the ****hole they call Wyoming..
My tire blew out, guess which one? The one i ran over the stupid LICP that 9sec racing built. So 2am on i80 west in between two bum**** towns. I try to change to the spare. Guess what? Previous owner installed all 5 lug, key lock lugs...
So i find that key and start to attempt to loosen one, Damn they are on TIGHT. So i crank it some more and bang,, i broke the key. So i decide to start walking, i walked 6miles in 22degrees while 500 truckers pass me up. Finally a nice one stoped and picked me up and took me the other 14 miles to the nearest town. Where we towed my car and drove a 12 point 16mm socket on with a hammer and got those locks off..
Then i drove the other 300miles home on a donut.

But i must say, Al is the greatest! Nice guy, great tuner...
Thanks Al, for the great tune.
And I would like to thank speedking for sticking around keeping me awake. And everyone else there. Everyone was really cool and i had a good time.

Here's my dyno comparison thread: Altitude Dyno Comparison .

I lost a lot of power, specifically on the top-end. The tune was still great, just on the lean side, although with full alky spray that's not a problem. After the cams and retune last night, I have my AFRs set to normal 11.2-11.4. I could go leaner due to alky and probably due to the thin air, but we kept it in a safe area, since I plan to road race with the alky.

Btw, like all you others, my stock turbo was tapering all the way down from 26psi to 16psi at 7500rpm. At sea level, my boost held 22.5psi at 7k and 21psi at 7.5k. That is making a HUGE difference in top-end power. I didn't know that's what happened up here. My power curve up to 5k is awesome even at altitude, but that's because my boost holds at 26psi - after that, it's a steep decline that can't be stopped. All the stock turbos did that according to Al's MAP sensor. The one 20g-9 held 17.5psi that late, but that's still not a lot.

That's funny, Al said he only liked my car from 5k to redline even in the altitude.

That F'n sucks, I was afraid something like that would happen. I saw the new licp and I noticed that there was no bead or flare, I was really concerned for your long haul back to UT. Condolences my friend.

ehh i made them put the stock licp back on cause they couldnt build one that would stay on.. I think they were just rushing and they can actually do pretty damn good work.
Although my trip sucked i made it, all i need is a new tire. So i can actually test it out against my buddies vf30 wrx.

Great experience! My car came out SO well. We had to work through a bunch of gremlins, which I apologized for to Al several times. Thanks a bunch to the 9sec guys for swapping parts on and off so quickly. Once everything was working and running right, Al was impressed with the tune. He told me it was one of the most knock-free EVO's he ever tuned Very strong for whats done to the car, which isnt a whole lot. Now off to the dyno....

Thanks Warrtalon. Welcome to Colorado and the thin a$$ air. Now you can hang out with the rest of us who get crappy boost because of the altitude. Oh well it's fun anyways.

The best times I have seen up at bandi with only 390whp or 317 corrected is a 12.3. But there might others that have beaten this time. (03 stock turbo evo8)

I should have waited for Al's road tune, but I have his reflash....which is the next best thing.

my tune went well, but my launch control is intermitant, Al thought I might have a faulty clutch engagement sensor......and somehow my car developed a pinhole boost leak during the tune....

I will get my act together and leak down for the boost leak, add an O2 housing and try to see what I can find out about the sensor......

nit picking aside the car runs very strong and I am a happy camper

Thanks again Al
