Just for the record we are trying to make a 9 second evo not 10 sec because we know it can go 10's easy, but people take it to heart i guess.

There's nothing easy about 10s. I'm not sure why this isn't sinking in. It's not about power at this point. Anyone can make power. Putting all that power to the ground without destroying the transmission is quite a chore. Being able to launch and drive well enough to hit a 10 is also not easy. I guess you'll just have to find out the hard way. Even Al's car barely hit 9s, and it took excellent driving. Likewise, there are only 3-4 USDM Evos in the 9s, and that's with tons of research, work, trial and error by major shops.

10s aren't easy. 9s are extremely difficult.

I dont want to add to this small fire but War is kinda right

My car makes as much power as yours and I have not ran a ten (Blew a weld on the BOV, ate a clutch, broke 1st gear). And running a 9 on a full weight Evo wont happen with the 35r with alchy alone. At least not safely. You will need to be in the high 600's to run it. More like around 700 with a completely full weight Evo and so-so driving.

On the real topic though, very nice numbers! Remember also, you will need a bunch of safety equipment once you start running fast numbers. To hit your goal of a 9 second pass it will take MANY 10 second passes first. Once you get known at your track for running in the 10s without a cage, belts, driveshaft loop, firejacket, window net, etc, they will not let you run the car. Your also going to need slicks (And smaller rims/tires and the whole brakes need to be swapped) or at least drag radials (Not too likely) to run the 9. Again, awesome power... Im sure youll get to the 600 mark. Thats a hell of a true street car. Youll have some fun

I agree that 9's are hard to reach, however, with myself tuning and Dan at Pruven wrenching it really is just a matter of how much $ you want to spend to reach the 9's

Dan hit the 9's with a talon years ago when the turbos sucked big time

I am not mimimizing my past accomplishment, however, the path has been clearly set forth by TT, Myself and AMS for the 9's

Personally it is the eights that I find to be more of a challenge now

Espec after Shep went 7's !

Congrates on the results but you have to know that 10s are not easy. A million thing could go wrong. I cant even start counting .

With that big snail your throwing on there you got a chance now. The 35R simply cant do it... on our heavy SUPER-aerodynamic cars even the 42R will have a very tough time getting in the 8's.

Cut some weight outa the car I guess. A lot of people run full stree cars with stereos and A/C and stuff. Remove all that, seats and other crap, I mean if you can get the Evo a lot lighter, it is the same as adding WHP.

It is a 2.3L . It sounds like your assuming it a 2.0L.

I think this is the first IX with this kind of power right?

Don't forget that all of the 9's have been run on slicks also, so you better add a small brake kit to your list. There just isn't enough headroom on a 35r to make up the 1-2 tenths you will lose in the first 60'. You will need a bigger turbo then a 35r to be able to pack on the mph in the back half to make up for a slow launch.

Either way you have a pretty bad *** car right now.

I truly agree with Warrtalon, I have been chasing the quest for 9's seems like forever although I made over 620 WHP turbo only and over 720 WHP with nos on a dedicated drag car and still my best time remains 10.41@143 mph. I know what it takes to get further but yet its not easy especially on street tires and standard gearbox... have almost retired now knowing that I have a car that will do 9's but won't see it cause it takes a lot to do it...
