I am working on the mail in revisions at this time

Currently, I am testing the equipment out on numerous vehicles to assure no bugs (its only a week or so old) !

Also the IX is not yet supported

I will soon be offering a bundled "package" consisting of the softwear, cable, instructions and 4 maps - stock - vallet - pump and race all customized for the end user's individual modifications

I will prob have all the details worked out in about a week for those who want that option

KEEP IN MIND - there is some risk in installing your own maps, if your ecu locks up or iof the lap top battery goes dead, if the vehicle's electrical system has been modified or if you are using a cell phone while flashing. (I will be listing many details on safe flashing in my guide book). When you mail in that flash its done with many safeguards and on a bench to assure a perfect result every time. In flashing almost 3,000 ecus to date I have not lost one due to a flashing failure.

I will have more details in a week or so

In the meantime, every custom tuned customer gets a race map if they bring race gas - free

Thanks

ps what do you think the mail in flash is!!
youre not making any sence!!
AFAIK, the mail-in flash is a very safe conservative tune, catered to your modifications, based on Al's experience with hundreds of similarly equipped Evos. You won't get as much of a performance gain as a custom tune, but it doesn't involve dangerous self-tuning (like stealing other people's maps ), expensive dyno time, or driving to wherever Al is, so it sounds like a great deal to me for $200.

The only problem I see in the mail-in flash is that your car has to sit for a few days with no ECU, so my question was whether Al planned on providing a similar package with the new self-service software options so you don't have to have your car down for a weekend or so, and apparently he is. If I'm not making sense to you I'm sorry, but the question was directed toward Al and I'm glad to see he's all over it like white on rice.

Frenchy, I don't think that's even a small concern. I have a base 05 map here that is only 256k. Even an old, crappy 8mb thumb drive will hold 30 maps that size.

Machron, you can also just get an E-flash, which is an emailed flash instead of sending your ECU. You get the emailed file, put it on your laptop, load it into the program and flash your own ECU. This is a huge benefit over having to mail in an ECU.

I personally can't wait to be able to switch to non-alky + race gas mode for SCCA events where alky is unavailable instead of dicking around with my SAFC. I will be able to toss in race gas, turn off the alky, reflash, race, then reflash back with the alky turned back on. I also will have a stock map for any dealership trips as well as the valet mode for my wife (haha, j/k...or am I?).

Yes, you will need Windows. But there is no software available yet to reflash the IX ecu.
