Happy New Year - (2006 year in review)
2006 has been a really amazing year here at Dyno Flash and I thank my loyal customers and sposnors for their continued support.
2006 brought the advent of the IX reflashing project which began at Buschur Racing and working on the BR350 IX cars and development of base maps for all the IX vehicles. I remember driving about snowy Ohio roads last January with David Buschur working on the first IX reflashes. It was a time of great excitement as I devloped the very first IX reflashing program and discovered how the IX ecu works.
2006 also closes out the life span of the 4G63 and the last IX Evos which carry the legendary 4G63 block are being sold now. The end of the Evo means a lot for me on a personal and business level. Going forward we wont have new customers with brand new Evos looking to make them faster - all the future customers will already have an evo or be buying one used.
The new Evos when they get here may or may not be as good a platform fior modification - this is something we will all find out maybe in 2008. In the meantime, I pause to pay tribute to the great 4G63. The 4G63 has proven to be one of, if not THE, ultimate tuning platform. I can not imagine Mitsubishi comming out with a better engine.
2006 also saw the introduction of evo flash softwear which revolutionized the world of reflashing Evos. Previously reflashing equipment was very primative and costly to obtain and suddenly the scene was turned upside down with the advent of ecu flash. I have found that the vast majority of my customers continue to seek my services for a professional tune. I think my very reasonable price point for my services has helped to make my services make sense for most evo owners. A real upside to the new softwear is enhanced ability to tune the cars and more features and tunable parameters than were previously available. Combined with my previous experience in raw hex code editing, the new softwear gives me the ability to turn out a vastly improved product.
2006 brought a lot of success with my race evo. Although increased traveling to tuning trips reduced my time available to work on and race in the race car, I was able to get the car to a point where it is a consistant 9 second car going 9 seconds every pass down the track. Its best times this year 9.7 on cheater slicks and 9.8 on radials made it a true 9HR status vehicle which has been a long standing goal of mine for some time.
2006 saw me do a LOT of traveling, I wanted to get out there and really imerse myself in tuning Evos and my travels took me all over the United States - AK, HI, WA, OR, CA, NV, AZ, UT, CO, LA, MI, MO, KS, OH, IL, IN, ID, FL, GA, SC, NC, VA, DC, MD, NJ, NY, PA, CT, MA After this long journey, I can honestly say that I love America and I think we have the greatest nation on earth.
Its really a wonderful nation and its great to see that the passion for Evos has spread literally from coast to coast and tip to tip all over the USA.
2006 made me realize that a vast proportion of Dyno Flash customers are members of our Armed Forces. I appreciate both your business and also your dedication and service to our country and your sacrifice to defend our nation. Thank you to our military members.
2006 saw a return to my Subaru roots as I began to actively promote Subaru tuning services for the first time in several years. I purchased a used 2005 STI which is on its way to becomming my second race car.
2006 saw a switch to a new dyno facility and a new dyno for my home base at "The Shop". I want to express my graditude to Jimmy at "The Shop" (www.theshopct.com) for welcoming me to his new Dyno Dynamics Dyno facility. The Dyno Dynamics is a world class tuning tool and its capabilities make for a better tuning experience and product. I find the majority of my customers have expressed that they find my new facility a improvement and that they have had a better experience at my new home.
I want to thank Buschur Racing for their continued support and guidance this year - without whom my race program would not have made it to the next level.

Best New Years - Thanks to DynoFlash
Local track opens for one day in the winter, for their New Years Day Hangover Fest. Haven't been to the track for about a year and a half. Previous best times were 13 flat @106 mph. Wanted to see how the car would run after Big Al's Midnight Special" road tune. Only made 2 passes. First run on 93 pump at 21 psi, with an embarrasingly bad 60 ft of 2.139 secs, I'm in the 12's, with 12.83 @108.80mph. Next run, dumped in 2 gallons of 110 oct., turned up boost to 24 psi, and ran 12.69@ 111.81 mph ET. Again, pathetic launch/60 ft. of 1.93 secs. I'm ecstatic! Biggest rush ever! Maybe this cars even capable of 11's with great driving. Thank you Big Al for DynoFlash. Its the real deal and a highlight in my life. Continued success in 2007.
