I think it's a worthwhile endeavor. A little turbo kit would make that car a lot more fun even if you were only able to do 16's.

The Smart 450 is turbo stock - bout the same speed as a automatic g20 or toyo Rav 4

Al, the real project is not in the motor but in the seating arrangement.

If you have the time and money then I say go for it Al. When i was stationed in Germany, my buddy(who is 6'2'')pulled up in a smart car and i damn near pissed myself laughing! I think it would be cool to see one run in the 11's, but i would never be caught driving one no matter how many mpg that thing gets.

People had them 2 years ago up at the woodward dream cruise in Michigan. I remember seeing at least 3. 2 driving and 1 of which was in the bed of full out custom super duty pickup and it was painted to match and all custom. It was pretty slick!

I think they're pretty cool though. Different.....

it's a smart business move. you may not reap the benefits immediately, but in 3 years, those who invest in the small car segment and intelligently market some eco/green friendly aspect into the product will be making super duckets.

Those cars were swarming all over the place in europe, even with sport packages, but didnt see one at Nurburging. I often wonder what one would do with just a BBC V8 in it.
