Fedex insurance is 1.70 per $50.00 of item, so lets say you want to do it for 400.00 then it would be $6.80 just for the insurance. You do have to understand that it would take a good amount of work for your tune though and to have it done right its worth it.

Now call up a dealer and ask how much for an ecu. Once you realize they aren't $400 or $600 you'll see why this isn't as bad as it seems. I'm also pretty sure the delivery back to you is overnight. Go buy the tactrix cable for $100 then the ecu software, then a laptop and do it yourself. Hope you dont blow up, but if you do, you could probably find motors for $75.

I think the op said he has an upgraded turbo as well.

I don't think everyone is complaining about the tune price, but the shipping cost. It does cost money to package the item to ensure it'll come back safe. There is nothing like tuning your own car, or email flashes are probably better. Since the tuning is free, you can fine tune the car within a week with email flashes.

Hello Al sorry to bring up an old post, but was wondering if you still over discounts to custom tuned people. You have custom tuned my Evo twice and once by mail. Wanted to possibly get a FP red and wanted to see if you have a mail tune for this?
let me know thanks

Al has a tone of experience and has been good to me with mail in and if you had read my post you would see I have had two custom tunes by him in the past. I am looking for a safe tune
until I can schedule him to come to my area again and a by mail flash would work to get me going more safely until then.
