well you are 100% correct on this and i am the first to back you up.
al was tuning my car this weekend ...when this happened.
so i was like a guniea pig to this whole thing..lol
anyway, we stopped the tune due to the issue at hand ...i ran out got a fuel pump and installed it and al jumped back in car to finish tune......what a difference it made!!
and just for the record.....AL is the man!!
I personally dont think that anyone else would do what Al did and retune my car after a part failed..now thats what i call customer service.....he would not let me leave until he was happy with my car. let me repeat.." He Would Not Let Me Leave Until He Was Hpappy With My car".
so read that twice and you decide who is the better tuner for your car.
again Al thank you for your time and effort.
was a pleasure meeting you bro!!

what other facts do you need? hte fuel pump is good for 400 bhp, ~320 whp but at WOT and or 65 PSI the pump is only good for 366 bhp.....
do the math? the stock fuel pump becomes pretty much maxed out at 300 whp, so if your running it at WOT its gonna overheat, thus reducing its capability even more
unless you increase the voltage going to the fuel pump to 16.5 volts and 21 amps then at 65 PSI you can pull 585 BHP out of it... producing 221 Ltr/Hr

Just get the fuel pump. It's 100 bucks. Should be one of the first mods you do anyways if you're planning to mod in the future.
I look at it this way. The fuel pump is basically the cars "heart" supplying blood to the brain, or in this case gas to the engine. If it craps out on you your in big trouble. "heartattack"

Please tell these guys # 1 how your pump failed - #2 - what you saw on the a/f gauge when it failed and # 3 how stock your car is
I think that will answer ann the crtics
and # 4 - how much faster your car was after it was re-tuned with the more stable fuel supply

I am advising fuel pump upgrades because under hgh stress conditions - e/g long dynp pulls at high boost or long repeated street pulls in high temp locations, I am seeing a large perentage of stock pumps which will suddenly start flowing significantly less psi of pressure as they get hot
The Walboro not only flows more, it is more consistant in high heat, stress situations
If you have a current dyno flash and switch over to the walboro pump your cvar will operate fine - however there is a slight possibility that it may run too rich in the high rpm range
This is especially the case for people who have had custom tuning and where we had to put in more injector duty cycle on top to maintain a/f ratio
The bottom line is i would rather have you put the pump in and possibly run a bit richer than run the stock one this summer - have it overheat and wind up with 13.0 a/f's and a hole in your piston fromj a failed fuel pump
I do NOT make $$ from selling pumps
I am ONLY posting this info so that my valued customers will not have any problems with their dyno flashed cars
When we suspect something - we observe it - - it is only after we CONFIRM a FACT that we made a warning or advisory
I have been suggesting fuel pumps for months - based upon my time with tuing turbo cars and genereal prudent advice
Now I have seen two pumps go bad in two cars in a row in 85 degree heat so I can tell you the pumps need to be changed
BTW - in both cases - the pumps were immeditely changed and the fuel flow was immediately retored

As someone who does Evo tuning - and only evo tuning full time - 7 days a week for 6 months now; we learn new stuff almost every day
This is what we have discovered - it may be a rare occurance - however for the $90.00 we think its funbds well spent to make sure you are not a crash test dummy to discover the fuel pumps really so get hot and stop making the same psi
Finally - we found - on stock cars we can make more whp with the new pump than on the old one (I wont tell you why or how - we just do)
$90 is some pretty damn cheap insurance. I have already put one in as I do not want to be one of those "well, hindsight is 20/20 I guess....." idiots who learned the hard way. Just think of all of the money that you have put into your car so far, $90 is nothing.

I am 100% confident that stock fuel pumps will be failing with a much greater frequency this summer Its just very dangerous that they fail by reducing output - not by stopping all together
I have read that the aftermarket pump adds 5 to 10 psi more to your fuel system. Will this have any negative affects and will the rest of the fuel system need to be upgraded like the rail and injectors?
