No chance of an E85 ticket in Chicago, IMO. Maybe someone from Chicago will chime in to correct or substantiate.

Now, in CA, they actually have a law against E85 conversion. I don't think that IL does, however.

I think it's illegal in every state to convert actually...or from what I remember reading years ago.

But, I doubt many cops (no offense) will know what cars can fill up with E85 or not. I haven't had any issues in Chicago.

No issues so far here in Norcal.

I was doing some "research" prior to my own upgrade to E85... It does violate EPA rules to convert your car to E85 unless using an EPA approved E85 conversion kit. And I don't think there are any EPA approved E85 conversion kits for EVO's. This would be a federal law.

On the state level, I only found a reference to a state law against conversion to E85 in CA.

All that said, I presume that enforcement is an extremely low priority for both the EPA and CA. E85 conversion simply isn't something that any politically active group is adamantly opposed to. Lucky us!

I say E85 FTW!

Anyone have the correct xml for the Injector Cranking Enrichment IPW for 94170015?

I have:
Code:
<table name="Injector Cranking Enrichment IPW Adder (Main)" category="Main Map Fuel Settings" address="56ac" type="2D" level="2" scaling="TimeInjCranking">
  <table name="Coolant Temperature" address="67bc" type="Y Axis" elements="9" scaling="Temp" />
  </table>
This shows up blank on my ROM.

I also have:
Code:
	<table name="Post Primer Enrich Decay #1" category="Fuel" address="3712" type="2D" level="2" scaling="EnrichmentAdj">
	<table name="Engine Temp" address="67bc" type="X Axis" elements="9" scaling="Temp"/>
	</table>

	<table name="Post Primer Enrich Decay #2" category="Fuel" address="3722" type="2D" level="2" scaling="EnrichmentAdj">
	<table name="Engine Temp" address="67bc" type="X Axis" elements="9" scaling="Temp"/>
	</table>

	<table name="Post Primer Enrich #1" category="Fuel" address="3732" type="2D" level="2" scaling="uint8">
	<table name="Engine Temp" address="67bc" type="X Axis" elements="9" scaling="Temp"/>
	</table>

	<table name="Post Primer Enrich #2" category="Fuel" address="3742" type="2D" level="2" scaling="uint8">
	<table name="Engine Temp" address="67bc" type="X Axis" elements="9" scaling="Temp"/>
	</table>

	<table name="Primer Cranking Enrich - First Pulse" category="Fuel" address="3810" type="2D" level="2" scaling="uint8">
	<table name="Engine Temp" address="67d8" type="X Axis" elements="11" scaling="Temp"/>
	</table>
I'm not sure what those Post Primer Enrich Decay tables do.

I'm just trying to get my hands on the correct table for 94170015, and some good settings to start with for cold starting on E85.

Does anyone have the proper Cranking IPW / Cranking Primer / Cranking Enrichment XML for 94170015, and some values I can start with?

My attached values do not seem to do much for me. My car cranks away for a long time before I can get it started.

Are you sure you're changing the cells for the current engine temp?

I will try adjusting the 7 degree mark, since that's the temperature it is currently. I was more concerned if I was using the correct tables.

The table is by coolant temp (in centigrade). Log the temp, then adjust that cell.

In fact I've increased mine a bit since I posted in the 96530706 thread.

Here is what I'm using right now:
-26=361
0=240
18=150
45=80
68=45
93=14
122=8
171=7
180=7

Are you only using these settings when its cold or do you run these year round?

It's by coolant temp so a properly tuned table should work just fine year round. Coolant won't go below a certain temp in warmer months unless you park in a refrigerator.

I'm running these year round. Of course, "cold" is a relative term, and I am in Tucson; we think 40*F is cold.

Here is what I'm using right now:

0=240
18=150
45=80
68=45
93=14

Thank you sir! My car wouldn't start on a cold motor no mater the temperature outside. Took four or five tries and threw all types of codes in the process and this simply fixed it. I knew there was a way, i looked into it and found this, now it starts up instantly every time.

Started instantly today at 32F, thank you.
