E-85/70 tune from Mitch Mckee @ Vividracing

Just wanted to let everyone know about my new tune. I am running E-70 now with some decent results. Unfortunately the local gas station that sells the e-85 is down to e-70 since it has been freezing here in central Illinois, however the car is definitely faster. I also have ZERO coldstart issues with the E-70. I have delt with Mitch before and he is always very fast at responding and revising tunes via email. All you need is a laptop, a tactrix cable, a couple free programs and this email... Mitch@vividracing.com and your setup to make more power.

Anyhow my mods are in my signature, still on a stock turbo with 10.5 hotside. I am running 25psi right now, unfortunately that is about it for E-70. I am not running much timing at peak torque, which is why the torque isn't really high. However I am able to run more timing just about everywhere else, as well as still running a little rich. The afr's are 11.8 to 11.1 by redline(gas calibrated LC-1 wideband) The only thing I have added is a wideband and a set of Precision 1200cc injectors. Mitch was new to the gas and that big of injectors on the stock ecu, but he got everything to work great. The car idles/runs like a champ. I have a 93oct pump gas map for the bigger injectors as well, in case I ever go on a big trip where E-85/70 isn't available. Hopefully in a couple of months or less we will get the full blown E-85 back and be able to make some more power. The top end is what amazes me, even with the boost tapering down, the car never stops pulling.

Anyhow here is a DLL dynograph to get a guesstimate on power @25psi on E-70
The second dynograph is on a friends AMS GT3076r on pump gas @24psi (He is losing a little timing which caused the little dip after peak torque) Both cars are pretty much exact in mods minus the turbo/gas. The DLL runs were one right after the other, same smoothing/weight(both of us in the cars)

If you have any questions feel free to contact Mitch via email at Mitch@vividracing.com or me via email at gsxtremedsm@yahoo.com(as I don't check my pm's all the time)

Thanks Brandon,

I learned a lot doing this tune. We don't have this gas in Phoenix so it is hard for me to do more testing on a car here.

The gas did not respond like I thought it was going to. I think the E-85 to E-70 is a big difference in terms of how much timing the car can make. The car did not like timing at peak torque at all. But I think when it gets a bit warmer in IL we will be able to get the torque up with real E-85 in it.

Thanks again guys,

Mitch

Was this tune done via email. If so, I would let people know you tune for e-85 via email. I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in this.

Yes this was done through Email. It took a little getting used to but we got it all figured out.

If you are interested in a mail in E-85 flash please let me know via PM.

Thanks,
Mitch

Need update!!!

Any updates on this thread?

Mitch, now that Phoenix and Mesa have E85 stations, are you doing more E85 tunes? Anymore email tunes?

GSX, did you ever get the real E85 tune done? If so, how did that compare to the E70?
