that doesn't mean its going to be stopped.. the price is just going to go up alittle more if anything. the whitehouse has already stated they are against this idea anyways.

That does not mean they are going to quit making E85- what that means is the oil companies will no longer get 4 1/2 cents subsidy for blending E10 and they will no longer get 31 1/2 cents (winter) to 38.25 cents (summer) for E85. (net difference of 27-33.75 cents gas to E85) It does mean E85's price spread will temporarily narrow until ethanol's price drops more due to imports or added US production from other feedstock sources. Most of the last several weeks ethanol (E98) was already near $1 less than 87 octane gas but with gas falling- about 30 cents presently (and this cost difference was pre-blender credit (subsidy)).

Too bad they failed to deal with some of oil's other subsidies such as low cost or free royalties on deep wells and other permanent tax deductions that oil gets.

Enough of the off-topic for now.

When switching to E85 do you need to tune the AFR ranges for the entire table or is just tuning the 100 throttle and spool sections fine?

Theres really no reason to tune anything under 100load besides the idle area if your having trouble with the bigger injectors.

I always tune the whole range. I can get much better drivability by tweaking both timing and MIVEC in the cruise cells.

Better mileage is to be had from tuning under 100 load cells. More so the Mivec and timing of course. Don't be lazy.

Dont get me wrong I do tune the whole table on 93oct, but when I switched to e85 I just tweaked the idle area. I didnt see/feel know need to change the cruise area.

How much more/less timing can be had on e85 in the cruise area?

Also, I believe someone said it in another thread, but making the fuel leaner during cruise doesnt really help MPGs on e85. Correct me if Im wrong.

I am a beginner but want some constructive criticism on my timing map. This is the map I'm currently running and it feels very good. Adding timing down low still adds 10whp but up top it's not quite that much so I assume I'm getting close to max but I'm not sure how much you can push it.

I really don't care about mileage but I do enjoy a smooth transition when accelerating at partial throttle rather than hammering down. Please help me enhance this map?

Jeff,

Check out this thread; there are some sample timing maps and lots of good tuning info.

E85 timing maps thread

I'd say it looks like you could definitely run some more timing, but be careful. It's easy to go beyond MBT.
