One thing interesting about that youtube article is the appearance of the piston tops on the E85 car. There is carbon on the piston tops, but on my Evo, there is no carbon accumulation. I'm trying to remember what Bryan's piston tops looked like when he pulled the head. I think they were clean too.

I wonder if that could be attributed to the fact that its NA or the fuel mixture it was running?

Bryan's were pretty darn clean. He had comparison photo's from an earlier head removal when running strickly gas 91/100. The E-85 is allot cleaner.

E-85

Gasoline 91/100 oct

Always gets me how "black" the oil gets running on gasoline compared to E-85 which just gets kinda dark carmel.

it's funny how people come up with all kinds of horror stories about running e85.. i hardly doubt that any reputable tuners, which most of them tuning for e85 would reccomend a set up based on e85 knowing it would present severe complications to customer's motors and fuel systems.i plan on running e85, and no one is going to convince me otherwise

Makes me think the video is a sham, but maybe there is something different about running E85 on that car. Maybe more oil making its way into the cylinder either past the rings or through the PCV system.

I pretty much think the same thing too. Not specifically that the video is a shame. I think these folks are pretty straight up. More along the lines that (1) it's a Chevy Burb that is a NA vehicle not running over 20 psi into it. (2) It could of had oil control issues like you said...rings...PCV system. I have personally seen Burbs torn apart after 75K and they look like coal factories inside.

if anything, I'd say that E85 is less corrosive since you run leaner mixtures... (I'm not an expert or anything so I could be wrong)
