Emmissions and E-85
the above guy asking is from cali.
no way will he pass w/ no cat here. its to the deathbed w/ any top of mods, especially visual ones. my car's too far modded to go get tested. 300$ and it takes care of this issue..

Here in Colorado we have waht's called mobile emission testing. basicallty a specially designed truck sits on the on-ramps t the whys and measures the emissions from passing vehicles.
Well in late 2008 I passed one and failed. They sent me a notice and I have to come to one of their official testing facilities for a free inspection. Well in 08 I spun a bearing so it's been sitting ever since. Well recently the car got a new 2.3 and Gt4088 with a Buschur Stage III head, Kelford 280 and a ETS 3.5 exhaust all running on AEM.
I am on E85 and have a spot on the exhaust to put the cat on.
Anyone have experience with a highly modded car like mine passing emissions?

The biggest hurdle(s) are the the cams. Depending on the size/duration you can get a large amount of unburnt fuel exiting the exhaust regardless of a cat or not. This is how it was explained to me as to the main casue of modified cars failing smog. That being said I have seen evos pass smog with kelford 272's so who knows. Your best bet is to but the stock cat on and get it as hot as possible before the test or just "pay a little extra".
