Lean on 2nd tank of E

Hi all,

I'm on 2nd tank full of E. Was doing some tuning and noticed it lean out throughout RPM range. Idle is lean now also.
This is the 1st time car was ran on E, 70k on car that's been running 93.

Injectors are a few months old.

I've seen a few threads of how E could be breaking up fuel gunk in tank and this could be causing fuel filter to be come clogged.

Should this be the 1st place to start. Pull fuel pump and check little mesh bag filter.
Also, do I need to check cylinder shaped filter on the passenger side?

thanks

If there was a few gallons of Gasoline left in the tank when you did the switch and then tuned on that tank, and after the fill up there is now a higher E85 content so that will lean it ou as well...

The light just came on the the 1st tanks fill up. Ran 1st tank down to around 1/3 and filled up again.

Trims were fine on 1st tank. +3 or so mid cruise.

My 1st few pulls this morning all seemed well and then on next pull I noticed something didn't feel right. Only thing I was doing was bumping the timing up a little.

None the less, I stopped tuning. I ran the car @ cruise for around 10 minutes after wards and AFR's were 15.2 - .3 on gauge.

Always either empty the tank or run it until (and past) the light turns on for several tanks through the transition and immediately after. Chances are you just had some gas left in your tank and the ethanol percentage is going up each time you filled up. Run it till the light turns on again for the next 2 tanks, keep an eye on WOT AFRs until you see them stabilize.

did you get the e85 from the same place as before ? Could be a different blend if you got it from a different station.

Did the problem fix itself, or can you share the reason that it went lean on the 2nd tank so we can learn from your experience?
