Exclamation Mixed feelings on Walbro 255

So my plan was to go with a Walbro 255, do the "hardwire" hack, and run E85 with a second map for 93oct.

My tuner advised that the Walbro wouldn't be too reliable. Would make the numbers, and do the work, but not for long. He recommended to do a double pumper.
My questions is if that's true seeing you guys have done this for years/miles.

Want to know for sure before dropping $500 on another pump. I don't mind replacing a walbro every 6-12 months. That should give me time to buy the double pumper, but is it required now? What Would YOU dO?

Mods:
-Evo 9 Turbo
-100CC Injectors
-Basic bolts ons.

TIA!

With what turbo and what fuel injectors? I can tell you from experience that with the mods shown in my signature the 255 couldn't supply enough fuel on E-85.

I have similar mods and my 255 is good for it. I guess it depends on your future goals.

Double pumper def. Was not expecting it to be now. No real "future" goals for a while. Maybe piecing things all year but nothing urgent.
Thanks for the info sir!

With that size turbo and injectors. A single 255 hardwired would be fine.

A single Walbro 255 with the relief valve modified/punched in would be good for your set up. I don't think that you would even need to rewire it.

I just posted this elsewhere, but do the Warlbro 400lph in tank. Out flows the modded 255s with ease, and will only run you around $150. A DP is becoming less and less necessary, especially for your application.

Single 255 will feed this with NO ISSUES with NO MODS.

Yes I second a single Walbro. A true Walbro Fuel pump is super reliable and will provide you with enough fuel. I think your tuner is misinformed about Walbros. There are fake ones that are only good to be paperweights.

For your setup you'll be just fine unless you want to go fp blk on e85 or big turbo e85

a single walbro on stock wiring is fine for your mods. i'm almost three years into a single walbro on e85. it works as well as the day i installed it.

Agree that the 255 walbro should be just fine. MODs in my signature with the stock/unmodified 255, which has been running great on E85 for two years now.
