Whats up with 100oct?
Whats up with 100oct?
I know this isn't really alternative fuel, but I didn't know where to post this thread. . E85,obviouslly is the way to go for power by fuel for our cars. It's not available to me. But, I can throw a stone and hit a place that sells race fuel. What would be the increase in power from 93-100 and 93-110. I understand that it cost more than e85, and that 100 is street legal and 110 is not. And, I don't really see people using it much in street cars. It'll be just for track use 1 or 2 days a week at best. Plus, are there any ill-effects of running race gas? I'd have a tune for it. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I know that its more pricey, that doesnt matter, whats the preformance aspect of it with increases from 93? Does anyone use it?
@JohnBradley- are you saying its not worth it?

Its better than a stab in the eye but we have been experimenting with mixing enough E85 to make E25 and seemingly are able to do everything that 100 octane can...or close. 100 octane will normally allow you run (in my case) a normal 92 octane map, 13* out the top, knock free and still be able to run 31psi, E25 is doing all of that currently.
Heres another perspective from the highly regulated zone of So.Cal
Like most, I have 2 maps. A POS 91 map & my sweet E85 map. I mentioned to my tuner 3 weeks ago that I was interested in running my next track day on our weak 91 octane. His reply was dont do it
He highly recommended a mix approx 1/2 of 91 w/ 100 & my tune would support the approx 95 average
EDIT: Update: I was just letting you know, my 91 tune supports a higher octane w/out making any adjustments in the tune. You asked about ill effects!

I may not have been clear in the OP. but, I have 100% access to 93, so downgrading to 91 or 92 is def not an option for me. E85, I have 0% access. I can not mix e85/E25. what are the power levels from 93-100?
