E85 longevity
Anyone have an idea of how long it can sit in our tanks before going bad? My car won't start and that's the only thing I can think of. It does smell different.
I haven't checked the injectors for goo, but I will before draining the fuel.

Well first of all how long has your car been sitting? I have had fuel (E-85) sit for 6 to 8 months in a tank with out any problems.

It's been sitting for three months without running. I think the tank was about a month old before i parked it.
The only thing i swapped were some S1 cams. The timing is spot on, so i'll re-check the sensor triggers.
gracias for the info.

Check the cam sensor, won't start if bad or disconnected.

They're both plugged in. I'll check the triggers on the cams. They only go one way, but maybe I messed up, somehow.
I just went out and tried again. The car kinda stumbled a few times then backfired, so I stopped LOL. Plugs were a bit wet and smelled like fuel.

I wish I would have seen this before yesterday. I had a 5 gallon tank full of e85 that was sitting for over a year. Needless to say I needed regular so I got rid of it. When I was disposing the gas in an environmental way I noticed the color had changed. I cannot speak to the volatility of the e85.
With that being said Ethanol is extremely hygroscopic. If the tank is sealed and no water is in the system, there really is not a shelf life. I have heard of people building their cars over the winter and starting it up in the summer time with the same tank of e85.
Your issue does not sound like fuel. It sounds like the timing is off in one way or another. Double check all sensors.
Funny story, back when I was learning about cars, one time i installed my crank sensor backwards on my old lancer. Car wouldnt start. Im such a noooooob.
