E85 NO MORE!!! Now called Flex Fuel ethanol and is lowered to E54
First things first this is only occurring in Arizona right now as far as I know. I am not sure about other states, but I wouldn't be surprised if this happens nation wide. According to a new bill called HB2171, E85 will cease to exist and it will be rebranded as Ethanol Flex Fuel and be lowered to E54. Pretty annoying if I say so my self. My Evo X is on TephraX3 with flex fuel so this isn't an issue but it looks like I'll be needing a retune on my IX in the near future. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up in case this does become a national thing. Would really suck to start seeing a bunch of blown motors and what not due to a lack of information.

I live in Huntigton Beach and went to a pump the other day in Costa Mesa (Pearson) and it said minimum of E53-E85 on the handle. I've never seen this before and it's the only pump that I go to with it. Maybe this is a sign....
Heres an article on this labeling issue. Will have to get me an ethanol content tester ASAP

Good point however the price you will pay for e98 (to cut it down to E85) or E85 shipped to your door is about $6-$7 a gallon. Not worth it in my opinion. At that point Ill just go get VP110 at the local shell for the same price.
Well this blows. I wonder how long until that makes it's way to the east coast?
What is the justification for the change anyway? Is it the oil companies finally getting their way or the subsidies on the ethanol killing the pricing? Just curious...and the even bigger concern is what happens when stations just decide to do away with it all together?
Ugh this sucks.
And as mentioned above, it would be very wise to pick up a tester. I bought one on ebay years ago and I test my fuel every time I fill up and it has saved my motors a couple times now.

Wow this sucks! They just can't leave anything alone can they?
It's ok gents. F'em, we don't need it. There are many other easy alternatives. Aquamist water/meth injection, race gas, c16 etc...
Will make things more difficult for us though

its not like they are getting rid of it...just watering it down more. Might turn into a good thing, with hardly any performance hits but better MPG or something...maybe...denial....
