Over 240 load from 2500rpm I lowered the mivec advance because with safe afr and conservative timing, 25psi boost i got some count of knock with 30degree advance on Eu 99 octane pump gas. Under 2500rpm and 240load the mivec advance is 30, at 2500rpm and over 240 load 27.6, 3000rpm 27, 3500rpm 25.8, 4000rpm 23.4 4500rpm 18.6. Full 3" TB. Now i can run with more timing. What do you think ?

I'm on a BBK Full and E85, and you're on a BBK-B and pump gas, but I suspect that setting MIVEC to 0 at 6000 rpm and 220 load will give a bit better top end. Probably not much better, but a bit better.
thnx for the response. I'll give it a shot.

If someone is interested to datalog MIVEC with 88840016 or 88580014 rom's, correct addresses are 75F6 and 75F7. I have set these to MUT40 (75F6) and MUT41 (75F7) and seems to be working fine.

Then you open up your MUT table in ecuflash and make sure you have the addresses 7650 and 7651 at the locations you selected to log mivec at (in this instance its 43 and 46 for me)
thanks for the info, it worked!

hello guys,

Sorry if this has already been discussed before.

If you install a modified mivex cam gear to go up to 44 -50*, will the stock ecu maps accept values above 30*?

If no, are there any work arounds for that?

Any advice on how i can get a mivec map accordingly?

Need all the advice i can get please

Thanks!

Cheers!

I doubt there is any significant advantage to that much overlap for most setups where people are pushing the turbo pretty hard. There is too much pre-turbo exhaust pressure for effective scavenging in those situations. I've run 20-28 deg across the rpm range with, at best, only a 5 whp difference.

I have'ne found this anywhere. If you have zeros (or low advance) in a cell and MIVEC is logging XX amount. Do/should you put an XX amount in the cell? Since it's already putting it there.

This is happening in RPMS over 5.5K. Read earlier above 6K was a mute point.............

thanks,

Buddy

I'm 4-5 years behind in tuning but, would the MIVEC tune be totally different if it's tuned for 90 oct? (it's the highest we have for daily - Alaska). Reason being, with the JDM map I get a serious stumble/hick-up/bog (no knock) at 3K and below w/ load above 100 (accelerating alittle on highway). As soon as 3K hits it is gone. Stock map runs fine.

Right now I have 15'ishes in that area and it smooths it out, but i feel as though I'm losing some on top end. I have come up w/ a mod'd map of my own, but would like to compare or run the JDM or a mod'd JDM.

I have tried many different tune configurations associated w/ boost load & the MIVEC. Haven't changed anything on fuel or timing.

I have greddy ez cams, K&N drop in and TBE. Load based boost w/ grimmspeed 3 port.

thanks,

Buddy

#1 syclones are badass lol.

Try cleaning your MAF if you haven't already. Check for boost leaks. Spark gap. etc

If you can try to log the hiccups if you can and post your mivec map
