I got my tractrix cable , its like giving a loaded gun to a kid
Why dosnt this come with instructions ?!
Here is what ive done so far ...

D/L ecuflash 1.28.716 program
Pluged up cable to car and to puter
opened program and hit "read from ecu"
the "task info" box filled up with info
the "open ROM Doucment" box says "read image"
The "Current Rom Metadata'' box reads "+ROM info" (witch I think i did something wrong but dont know how to change it) and "+Paramenters"
I open "Parameters" and click on "fuel" the i put a "X" in the box "injector scalling"

And thats where iam stumped , a pop-up box pops up and reads "Injector scaling-read image.hex" .."edit"...."The crunt map descripton is invalid or incomplete. Please edit the map description to fix the problem and the map will be viewable again"

Iam a tard i know , but i would be greatful for any help

 

you might need a Definition map to read your Rom.

(i'll stick around and see what others answer)

 

Need more info on your car ie Year, market. It sounds like they dont have the definition for your car yet. MalibuJack or jcsbanks is probably the best bet for answering this question.

 

yeah i pretty sure i got something f-ed up but dont know how to fix/change it ?

I would try uninstalling the 1.28 and reinstalling it to start over.

Make sure you load the right Ecu # (on ecu lable) for your year. I cant remember how I got to load it.

Once installed, before you read or write to the ecu you should play around with the program to get used to it

This happend with the 1.27 , so i uninstalled it and installed the 1.28 . But i will try againg today .

I did mess up that part about the ECU# , but when i installed 1.28 it didnt ask for it again --and where is the cable # at , aaaand what year do i use i have 2003 evo but non listed only 2004 and up ???

Ive been playing with the 2005 map from speedelement.

Theres no full definintion for the Euro spec 9 currently. There are afew people working on it, so it could be available soon.

 

whatever you do don't loose ignition power while flashing, or else you have extra ECU

 

I think if you lose power in the middle of flashing, or you somehow get a corrupt reflash on the ECU where the car's ECU won't boot or run, and you can't reflash it any longer, the bootstrap mode should still work.. But you'll have to use the ECU Unlocker tool since the default init string would be hosed... I have yet to recieve a "Defective" ecu from someone to try it out on though.

I should ask Al if he has any DOA ECU's, he could try doing that to see if he can revive any of them...
