Is the gear ratio the same for the EVO VIII and the EVO IX? Why did you use the EVO VIII as the car, I thought they had different gear ratios, wouldnt that effect the numbers it shows?

When I was tuning today I used it just to see how far off it was from my Mustang.

It was within 3 hp and torque was just about identical.

Really a cool feature.

Kreionic,

Thanks, but I guess I'm more interested in why nj1266 used the evo VIII as his base rather then creating a new one for his IX. It seems to inflate numbers when I switch car setting from the one I've created for the IX to the VIII

That's friggin awesome! If you don't mind my asking, what do stock EVO IX's do on your dyno? Just for comparison is all, i know its just a number.

That is an old thread. I used to have an Evo 8 and then traded it in for an Evo 9. The gear ratios do affect the numbers. Now I use an Evo 9 car definition file.

so how does this look for an VIII. It definitely shows where I am knocking. I am still working on the tune and trying to figure out how to use DLL. This is all I can do with DLL so far.

You need to use higher smoothing factor to get rid of all the peaks and valleys in the chart. Try 8 or 9 and see how it looks. You can also use Tools>copy to sample graph to copy the power chart to the main chart on DLL. This way you can see the power overlayed with all the other variables that you logged.

What exactly does the smoothing factor help with? I know raising it shows lower numbers and lowering it shows higher...What's a good smoothing factor?
