I remember reading a while back that somebody was going to write up a small description of every value in ECU flash? I just wanted to ask and check up on how that is going and when it will be done or is it already done?

that would be cool, it would take some work but well worth it. there was talk of a wiki that would take the load of one persons shoulders but it never came to fruition.

 

Yeah, most of us who want to contribute, don't have the time because of all of the work involved learning this stuff, its difficult to compile it with no time..

We have a knowledgebase on Aktivematrix but unfortunately 90% of my time is spent making the tools and testing them, doesnt leave much to document it..

I tried setting up a wiki, but it got molested very quickly when it was set up for open contribution.. I'd like to find a wiki designed to integrate into PHPBB, that would be alot easier to support.

 

I missed that wiki, must have gotten messed up pretty fast. thats too bad

 

The problem is the spam engines found it within 3 days of me setting it up to test it, and just spammed the hell out of it with Irrelevent advertising.. I may try a different wiki app that requires you to be a member to publish to it, which was why I wanted something that integrated into my PHPBB setup (actually integramod2 which is a highly modified PHPBB/Portal app) since I dont want to maintain two seperate user datasets considering the download and album features in my forum are really superior to the equivalent features in a Wiki.. Though they've improved..

 

It would be cool if it was still done. Cause then you can go through all the variables of tuning. Hey MJ when you said you already posted something like that on Wiki does that mean you already have it done? Do you have a basic description of things?

 

No the useful data was lost when the wiki was attempting to be cleaned up after being hit hard in a single day. I'm leaning towards setting up a standalone version of a wiki that requires a person to register to contribute. However I really would have liked to do it within my forum software, or at least tie the user ID's together.

Now here's the thing, aktivematrix has a really nice knowledgebase set up in there, and all members are encouraged to contribute and maintain their own articles.

 

The person working on the Manual was myself, I've been way to busy with work and going back to school for a Masters to really sit down and do much of anything to it anymore.

I'll try to work on it when i have time but can't make any promisses.
