It was my understanding, that 100% duty cycle meant the injectors were open for the entire time the inlet valves are open. This would mean that you could have greater than 100 % IDC as the injectors could open before the inlet valve has opened.

It was hard for me to believe when I first understood it, but IDC is relative to the entire four stroke cycle and not just the intake cycle. 100% duty cycle means the injector is pissing gas continously during intake, compression, combustion, and exhaust strokes.

I believe the newer direct injection systems (e.g. MazdaSpeed 6) inject only during the compression stroke.

This is the reason why you get only 5mpg or less running on a road course.

hello guys,
I am new to the ECU tuning world, I need your HELP.
I installed a race headers 3-1 remove cat and EGR straight exhaust to muffler. the car sounds sick and gain few HP. however I have the Engine Light on since I removed the EGR system. i have been reading a lot of post about ECU flash, i have download ECUflash, and Mitsulogger.
which cable should i get ? i was told to get from ebay the VOG-COM but there is like 5 different ones on ebay. can you guys guide in my right path. I need to flash my ECU remove the EGR from ECU

Secondly it would help to know what car and ECU you have.

i have a 00 eclipse GT v6 5 speed.
AEM COLD air intake,
full exhaust w race headers.
check engine light becaue I removed EGR.
I need to re-flash ECU delete EGR from the ECU.
