Wideband Newb
I've been reading a few threads and have since realized how much of a complete newb I am at tuning/widebands etc. Trying to understand some of the **** you guys are talking about is making my brain hurt a bit. Anyways, I'm planning on buying a wideband here in a few days and I'm looking for some simple-mans explaination... from what I've read, I plan on going with the Innovate LC-1. I can run it with EVOScan via serial cable and it has that nifty gauge (or is that seperate?) instead of the box looking portable one (LM-1). There's already a bung welded on my downpipe for a wideband, and I'm sure that there's a how-to somewhere on here on how to install it, so I won't bother you guys with that (unless I can't find it). The serial cable that comes with the LC-1, does it just stay plugged in to the wideband in the car or is it like the Tactrix cable so you can disconnect it while not in use? I'm getting with a local guy out here that knows ECUFlash like the back of his hand as soon as I get my wideband and he's gonna show me pretty much everything about it... would you guys recommend the LC-1 or is there another wideband you would recommend? I would like one that is a gauge-type and under $400. I know I had more questions but I forgot... I'll be sure to post them as soon as I remember.

LC-1 is not gauge type. Gauge is sold separately.. I believe its called the XD16 or something.
LC-1 is not an always plugged in solution. You plug it when you want to log, disconnect when you don't. Just like the Tactrix Cable. I installed mine as per a wideband installation guide in the forums. I have it routed into the cabin from below the 'ashtray' I pull the tray out, pull the serial cable through it.. then put the tray back.. for good measure
. Works out very well when you need it, and when you don't the cabin looks 100% stock
Hope this helps

I have the lm-1 rpm kit hardwired into my car it displays afr in realtime on my e-01 boost controller and I can log 45 mins of data on the e-01 or unlimited with the laptop and serial port or evoscan.
I have an LC-1 and I bought another gauge for it, installed it in my dash.
I leave the cable connected 100% of the time.
I also leave my tactrix cable connected 100% of the time.
I log twice a day...once to work and once back home.
I just plug in my 2 cables to my laptop and go.
There is no display that comes with the LC-1, but you can buy aftermarket ones or stick with Innovate's XD16 which is a very thin gauge.

Great if you use that for logging only, but imagine driving and glancing at that trying to grab some useful info.

Well, I decided I'ma stick with the LC-1 with XD16... found a damn good deal on the set that I can't pass up.
The gauge itself is surface mountable, right? I don't have any extra mounts right now until I get my center console gauge housing... will it be able to attach anywhere or will I need a mounting bracket/cup?
