Thank you, thank you very much.

rant:
I'm tired of reading the same questions, over and over and having to read through miles of bs and wrong answers and opinions from people who haven't taken the time to read from the true gurus, or who don't know their butts from a hole in the ground, but still want to give bad information as fact. If just 20% of the people asking questions would read first, before asking questions, I wouldn't have to read so much just to find out that the question being asked has been answered in some other thread 6 months ago and now I've got to go back and find it. If I'm tired of reading the bs, I'm sure the gurus are certainly tired of writing it. Thank you, easy does it now,,,,down from the box...thank you, thank you very much.

Although I agree with you about finding the correct answers first and try to whittle down the threads with bad info. Its inevitable that there's dozens of threads with either too much info, or have gotten too long to easily find a persons answer.

In general, I "Try" to answer questions in posts when I can. I only have my gripe with PM's as a majority of the time, the PM'ed questions have either already been answered, or an answer in the public forums will better serve the entire community instead of just one user.

I'm just an old friend who wants to chime in and say a big "THANK YOU!" to Jack for everything he has done and continues to do for the Evo community. He was very active in the old TurboXS UTEC early days and helped us a ton. So if he feels the need to rant, I feel the need to thank. :-)

He continues to be a great resource, but let's search the forums first guys, like he asks!

There, that's my +1 on Jack FTW (For the Win!).

Cheers,
Adam

Hey, haven't seen you around in a LONG time..

I have no good rants for today, I was up all night with my son being sick. My only rant isn't anything Evo related, only that the resident at the hospital trying to take blood tortured my son with the needle. Its been a busy non-evo week for me.

For every 800 PMs and painfully obvious questions there are another 800 of us that just read your stuff and learn... Thanks for your contribution to EvoM all the way back to 2003 when I first bought an Evo and couldn't leave it alone.

That is perhaps my biggest gripe. When i don't know something, i don't post about or i ASK more questions instead of giving wrong answers. I get so sick of people replying with "no, using <tuning software> sucks" or "so and so is teh best omg!" or "the value of pi is 3.149999900999....I THINK"
Well duuuh, if you THINK and don't KNOW for sure, then for the love of god don't post! I've seen so many basic questions and facts about the car answered and stated with such lack of knowledge, that even a total tuning n00b like me was banging my head on the desk.
It even goes as far as people stating that the trunk lid is aluminum, that 03-04 evos have a max boost set at 14.5, the MR is the only one with ACD... just very basic stuff that you can read in a damn brochure or a car mag. Let's not get started with what heel-and-toe or double clutching is and how they're different and what each is used for; and that some people think the jolt your car gets when down shifting is from not double clutching (instead of from not rev-matching).
Sometimes i post to correct people about things that i actually know about, but sometimes i just don't bother...
What i'm saying is that i get frustrated and i'm a n00b, i can imagine how annoying it gets for Jack.
Hope your son gets better soon.

Thanks guys.. Good news is my Son is home, he's got an unrelated cold at the moment, but it looks like he'll be fine..

Its funny that even though I rant and try to repost information numerous times when I feel its sometimes hard to find, I still get the same questions in PM's on a daily basis.
