I just got my tactrix cable today.

I apparently have a flashed vendor ECUTEK ecu...

I used the unlocker program and ecuflash to download my map (backup) I changed the file name so I have my back up and one to play with.

How in the world if I have ecutek I am able to see the fuel maps boost maps and everything the ecu shows if ecutek is a seperate program..

COuld i possibly have an ecuflashed ecu and not an ecutek.

How can I tell?

 

ECUTek is just another tuning tool.. The rom is the same regardless.. The difference is the unlocker bypasses the code that would normally make the ECU unreadable.

there is NOTHING unique about the rom..

If you needed the unlocker, then its probably an ECUTek flash, there are other ways to tell but its about looking for your license ID # at the end of your rom file.

If you don't plan on ever using ECUTek again, then I would go and change the Init code from whatever it is, to 0001 so you don't have to use the unlocker in the future.

 

okay so the easiest way to tell if i do have ecutek is to use ecuflash without the unlocker.

And can you explain how i change the init code to 0001 and where I find out what it is right now?

Hey malibu jack does the Unlocker work with V1.29 as well as V1.28 of ecu flash

 

Yes, it works with all versions of ECUFlash at the moment..

Its just that the unlocker was released when 1.28 was the newest version.
