Search Is Useful
Have you gone to the website to read about the application?
http://www.limitless.co.nz/EvoScan/
or look at the name...it is not Suby Scan
.....
Now that the joking / teasing is done, if you scroll down the website, you'll get a list of vehicles that are supported....It looks like it works for all Mitsubishi's and that he is working on Nissan and Subaru...

You should try an EvoScan cable from http://www.limitless.co.nz/cables it will work with that vehicle. Can you post a pic of your obdII connector in your car?

...car is about 6000 miles from here but I can ask for the pic if you like. We tried the tactrix cable (which I used on my VIII) for reference...I diddn't know you had a evoscan specific cable. He did come across this post:
http://www.ftooc.org/phpbb/viewtopic...er=asc&start=0
and he's going to give that a go first.
yeah that info came from my EvoScan website
you know what they say, If all else fails read the faq/manual/website
and that thread also talks about purchasing the EvoScan cable that does all that for you.

Standard OBD-II is different than the MUT protocol that mitsubishi logging tools are using.
The tactrix and evoscan cable are capable of being used as regular obd-II readers but there isn't alot of software that utilizes it to do that.
on www.aktivematrix.com there is a program called OBD Scan Tech that allows you to use this cable to read OBD-II compliant ASIAN and EUROPEAN cars, I have found it also works with most 96 and later Chryslers with an OBD-II port. (GM and Ford use a completely different method for accessing the diagnostic data which isn't compatible with this cable) Please don't confuse this with MUT logging, this is just a Generic OBD-II diagnostic tool, originally written for a different cable, that turned out to work with the Tactrix cable on my Mitsubishi, and a few other cars I've tried it on.
Neither Evoscan nor Mitsulogger will read non MUT Compatible (assume mitsubishi only, since there are some cars from other manufacturers that used mitsubishi ECU's only its hit or miss if it works) cars however. But I have had lots of input that the Tactrix cable and Mitsulogger (and likely Evoscan would work also for the same reason) will work with most 96 and later mitsubishi cars (and trucks) for logging.
So the short answer is.. No these tools are specific to Mitsubishis, but the Cable can be utilized with the proper software.. And this is for logging only.
BTW if the port is called OBD-II, then its connector design is the same so the cable should physically hook up. How its wired or initialized is a different question. There is a thread on Aktivematrix about another user having a similar problem with a 96 mitsubishi (euro I think) he was testing on. He got it to init but it would die if the car was running or something to that effect, I had read he might have gotten it working though. Some earlier ECU's have a slower/different data rate, but I was under the impression that OBD-II was all the same.
For what its worth, 96 is a weird year for OBD-II, in the US it was the first year it was officially required, but some cars didn't support it 100%, I don't know if the same applied for other countries, or if MUT would have been effected as first gen mitsubishi ECU's had a much slower MUT protocol and 96 was about the time that second gen ECU's would have started being used.
A good example is more recently the Lancer Ralliart got a 3rd gen ECU in 2005 before the Evolution did in 2006 (the Evo IX)
