Boost Limit Numbers

Does anyone know the value of the numbers in the boost limit setting.

For example if I want to set my boost limit to 24 psi, what number should I put in?

Hi

Most people take 260 to be 1.6 bar boost, roughly, so 270 to 280 should be OK. You might want to considers re-scaling the load range as well.

You will use boost limit in combination with offset to hit those load columns as obviously boost limit doesnt go that high.

I think you are getting confused here with target boost. I use an MBC and dont need to control boost with the ECU. I just want the protection of fuel cut should I somehow over boost dangerously. Boost Limit goes up to 319

Early on tuners used the Boost Cut Delay timer and set the value really high to delay the boost cut, then they started seeing fuel cut due to higher loads, and the fuel cut is controlled with the Boost limit table..
again, early on it was set as high as it can go, (319 is the highest) But now that we understand load and boost control tables a little better, you can actually use it as a safety measure and set its load just a bit higher than the max loads you will hit in each RPM range for your boost curve..

FWIW On my personal car I just set the timer and boost limit table as high as it would go to eliminate the fuel cut altogether, simply because I use a UTEC or ECU+ in conjunction with it and would occasionally hit fuel cut when I was tuning the car. This actually leads to other problems when the ECU's load actually hits over 319.. But then you deal with rescaling your MAF either with an external device or in the ECU so load reads lower, but that is a more complex topic since its really a hack to work within the range the ECU is capable of.

On cold days my load spikes to nearly 320. I might have to leave the boost limit at 319 after all. I suppose I could make it a little lower at higher RPM where my load is only around 260-270

If this is calculated load then the real load probably isn't going that high.

If you are on pump fuel you shouldn't need to disable your overboost fuel cut.

285 was where I had my fuel cut on pump fuel and I only tripped it if I genuinely overboosted.

Yes this is Calc load as I don't have the 2byte load. Why dont you think that the calc load would not be accurate.

It was simply a best guess until the real thing came along.

With a 285 fuel cut I could happily peak at 25 and hold 24 PSI.

To Dudical, for me 21 psi is about 230 load. So 255 may be around 24.

To my knowledge 255 is about 22 PSI. Maybe you can extrapolate from there.

Cheers!
