EvoScan and AYC/ABS readings.

Hey all,

I have been playing around with EvoScan to see if I can use it for trouble shooting
a non-engine related problem I am having. It all started with a supposidly bad ABS exciter ring. I finally found a new ring, and installed it yesterday to no avail. It didn't make my ABS light go off, and the ACD is still not working because of something else. Now, after logging/playing in EvoScan last night, I was looking at
my other non-engine related things, specifically in the AYC stuff, and noticed that it has all the speed sensor readings, amongst other things. After checking the diagnostic trouble codes, it's saying that I have a vehicle speed sensor error/problem. I believe that this is the final problem with the car, and it needs to be replaced. Now, after looking through my service manuals, it shows me how to check the sensor to see if it is reading correctly and working, and it's a small PITA rather than possibly using EvoScan to see if it's reading correctly. I noticed under the AYC menu it has all the readings for the wheels speed sensors and others. Now the question, when I am driving the car, most of these "real time" values are not changing, they are at one specific number and don't change even as I am driving the car. Does EvoScan work with the AYC stuff and actually output real numbers, or does that section of EvoScan not work yet? (And, why do they call it AYC when our car's don't have AYC?)

I want to use EvoScan to see if my Vehicle Speed Sensor (On top of the tranny) is actually reading correctly. EvoScan tells me I have a DTC for the vehicle speed sensor, and I am not sure if it really is bad or not.

Help!

Yeah, don't believe it. The DTC stuff in EvoScan does NOT work yet.

Yeah I must admit I haven't looked at that part of EvoScan yet...but you have to remember that EvoScan is supposed to work with all modern Evo's regardless of market. So it will need to work with non USDM Evos which do have AYC .

Hey, just for ****ters and giggles,

Next time someone is out datalogging, can someone do a quick datalog of the AYC stuff and e-mail it to me, as long as your ABS/ACD is working correctly. I would like to compare my datalogs to a working car's to see for reference what is different.

e-mail: thomas.klemann@forceprotection.net

Thanks!

I went around a roundabout sideways whilst logging to see if the AYC logging worked in the earlier versions of Evoscan (my IX JDM has AYC ). I didn't get sensible data, and think this might be another future feature.
