2.4L & 3065 finished - need help with base map

Finally got the car together with 2.4L and 3065. Has all supporting mods (fmic, 880's, 264/272, COP,etc.) I have been researching A LOT and trying to tune the car myself with Ecuflash/Evoscan/Zeitronix. My problem is that I am SOOO far away from the base map that I need some help. (I have already fixed boost cut, changed timing maps, fuel maps, rescaled open loop load and throttle, etc.) My car gets into high load cells very early and without any real boost. Also having a problem getting into open loop soon enough. I am happy to pay for a map/tuning help. Am I better off to call Dynoflash or Jestr and see if they have a map that is close?

You are definitely better off calling Jestr tuning or TTP. Have them establish a good conservative tune and then tune yourself from thjere.

You are not tuning correctly. The last thing you should be worried about is ignition timing. The first thing is injector deadtime and scaling.

I would not be attempting what you are trying to do with knowing what you have posted thus far.

I realize that I'm a little over my head - and I'm being VERY conservative with tuning (less than 10lbs boost and under 140 load so far). I copied another person's ignition map (which was way more conservative than stock) and scaled the 880's to 665. o2 feedback is within 20% (not great, I know). I used AEM values for the latency taken from another thread here. It is taking forever to tune which is why I was asking for a base map from a reputable tuner. I built the entire car myself (RRE built the 2.4L), so I'm not a total newbie (maybe 50%?)

If RRE built the engine you must not be too far from them. Why not have Dr. Gray tune your car and it will definitely be tuned by one of the best in SoCal.

I'm in Nor CA so RRE is about a 6 hour drive. Vishnu used to tune it back when it was 2.0L w/XEDE. When you start having parts from Works, Vishnu, Buschur, RRE, etc (they ALL have some parts that are excellent) you end up tuning it yourself or having someone like Dynoflash or Jestr tune it.

razorlab - can you PM me some suggestions. My car has been to most of the Bay Area tuners for various parts. Which ones are good and know Ecuflash well?

Thanks for the constructive post.

Razorlab is a tuner. He tunes @ GST. Give him a pm and have him tune your car. He has been very helpful to me. He helped me create a boost map for my ECU and did it on his own dime. I like the guy a lot. I hope I meet him one day and buy him He loves beer

Wow I thought I was the only one with a 2.4/3065 combo. Or even a stroked evo w/ 3065 for that matter.
Well I am changing my turbo now anyway, so looks like you are back to the only one :P.

a 2.3 + 3065 here....and I know a couple on evoM with stroked motor and a 3065...not a 2.4 though...my combo is fairly common I would say.

how is the boost curve? Are you changing to go bigger or for other reasons?
