my ecu flash/unlocker experience
my ecu flash/unlocker experience
ok, this is just a heads up to you guys. i had a problem getting jestr's tune, so he sent me the unlocker. well my laptop went crazy and i lost that email. so i get another tune from him and i cant get it to work. this is what i wound up doing. i had to go to the add/delete programs and delete any files about netframeworks and reload the new one. mine had version 1.1 on it. then i had to download winrar to open the unlocker. once the winrar was saved i opened it and it had the unlocker on the menu and i clicked on it and it started. then i opened ecuflash and i was able to get it working.
i've been playing with this last flash for 4 or 5 hours. this is what i had to do. not sure about every problem but this is my experience.

Yup had that issue as well w/my last Jestr Flash. Dled the Malibujack unlocker then flashed it, worked fine. Just in case no one told you yet, always make backups of your flashes, and have your immobilizer code saved somewhere just in case it gets changed by one of the flashes you receive. So how do you like your flash? Have fun w/the ride.

That's the process one of my customers went through to unlock his tune so he could change it, minus the part about uninstalling anything. It also took him a few tries to get it right. Like Jspec said, it's extremely important to make a backup of your flash files and immobilizer code. I keep a copy of my files and my customers files on my Laptop and back them up nightly to my server just in case. You never know when you're going to have a hard drive failure.

Open ECUflash>Pick Options>Change user leve to "Developer">Close ECUflash and Reopen again>Check the "Immobilizer" Box under the Misc. column of your Rom>Copy your Immobilizer code and save it in a safe place

I think you need to click on edit and see the address where it is located, that way if that address ever get changes you can change it back to where the immobilzer code is located in your rom.
