Dealer can reprogram your old unit with their MB991958 tool.

The new ECU will sync itself with your immobilizer from my best information and you will need to download the flash off your new ECU, save it so this does not happen again.
But he said it cranks...

If it cranks, doesn't that mean it isn't "immobilized?"

I may be wrong, just wondering if you read that info.

I am trying to understand what happened:

1. You got a flash from "somewhere" that did not have YOUR immobilizer code.
2. You did NOT save your own stock ROM that had YOUR immobilizer code.
3. You flashed the ECU with the "somewhere" flash.
4. Your car cranks but does not start.

Your only option is to take it to the dealer and have them figure out what your immobilizer code was. I do not know if they can do that and flash it back to stock. More than likely they will flag your car and void sections of your warranty.

To the OP...was this car tuned by anyone before? They should have kept the original map if so and maybe they can send it to you.

I ask because at one point you said you downloaded a stock map from the internet to start from square 1...which might imply you didn't have a stock map on before?

That doesn’t make too much sense. If you made the flash yourself (I assume from your original base map) then there is no reason to physically change/discard your immobilizer code. It's more likely that one would change the code if it was designed for another car/ecu.

He downloaded a stock map from the internet and used that to make his flash. Then he flashed it into his car without saving his original map. Immobilizer code is now lost, and you absolutely need to take it to the dealer. Ive never heard of disabling the immobilizer code like someone said earlier in thread, but that might save you.

Basically, you should have did a bit more reading before you started playing with your ecu. The first thing in EVERY ecuflash tutorial is to back up your original rom. Sorry man, Im not trying to sound mean. Theres just no way around this.

If you set the immobilizer code to , this disables it.
This is the method used in Ralliart Aftermarket ECU's.
