XmlHandlerHelper Error help!!

I seem to have got a problem I cannot figure out, I tried searching but could not find much. when ever I try to start ecuflash I get a XmlHandlerHelper box that says "parse error at line 123, column 304: unexpected character" and when I keep pressing the OK it keeps repoping up. after about 40 or so clicks it finally lets me in ecuflash but it has a long list of invalid ROM metadata, most of them being subaru.
I have tried reloading the software, deleting everything and reinstalling etc... nothing seems to work. I'm lost everything worked fine up until today. I don't think I changed anything on my laptop.
the only thing I didn't try yet is a system restore, I can't seeing as I have no restore points so I really don't want to have to start completly over on the laptop
any help would be appreciated
ed

Yup .. color settings. and be sure to fully delete the folder when you uninstall or the issue stays.

I allready tried deleting and reinstalling, I even deleted everything related to ecuflash on my laptop including all my maps and redownloaded ecuflash and I still get the error
I then tried to install it on my other PC and everything was fine.
this is so frustrating, I did mess with the colors yesterday so I'm sure thats what it is but I don't understand why if I delete everything and reinstall it keeps happening.

I think I got it working. I did an advanced search on my harddrive for ecuflash and found a few files I must have missed. I downloaded 1.3 again and it boots right up now. thanks

You can just hold down the enter key for around 10 seconds and the error will go away. ...that is a temporary fix. Reinstalling the application is still the ultimate fix.

Hi

I had to go through the registry and delete all the entries for ECUflash to clear the error. Of course after un installing and deleting the folders.
