Limits and Evo IX

Hey guys,

I'm new to tuning Evos, still I'm not new to tuning. I just finished working the Limit section of an Evo 9's ECU but the engine still doesn't rev to the Rev Limit I defined. The Stationary Limit was raised as well as the others but during the car's regular drive it doesn't rev high enough. I'm just trying to make it rev at least to 7.5K rpms.

Also is there any benefit in working the Accel. Enrich. in the Evos?

Thanks!

Sorry, not trying to give you as hard time here, but what does working the limit section mean? It doesn't make much sense. What is the map you have changed called? What is the current rev limit you hit whilst trying to rev out the engine. Why is revving the engine high important to you when the stock turbo set up runs out of steam high up ( past 7 K rpm )?

Model, year and ROM ID would be helpful as well.

I'm using ECUFlash and the Limit section is well the Limit section in the Rom's list of options, where you find Stationary Limit, Rev Limit, etc.

Guessed you'd be using ECUflash Didn't quite know what you meant by "working", I take it you mean adjusting the maps in that section.

Any how, with that sorted, what about some of the other points I asked? This will be good information to post as it will make it easier for people here to help.

The stock ROM has a rev limit of 7600. So if all you want to do is rev to 7.5k, you dont need to change anything.

I think he means he has only messed with the limit parameters. (rev limit, stationary rev limit, and speed)

Yeah, the stock limit is 7600 and stock stationary limit is 5000. I'm not sure why you would change those values if you are only trying to rev to 7500.

Its taken care off. The car is not stock. Tune was more than a success at the dyno and road. You guys missed the original questions. Its all good anyways. It's pretty standard stuff anyways. Thanx anyways! Good luck with your tunings.
