Lean spool AFR opinions

Disabled lean spool in hopes to kind of flatten out my cars afr from gear to gear.

I'm wondering what kind of AFR you guys are shooting for while the turbo is still running up to speed.

Also some opinions on just running lean spool up to say 4500 rpm or something.

I've got lean spool off, and I shoot for:

12.5 @ 3000RPM
12.0 @ 3250RPM
11.5 @ 3500RPM

Re-scaling your fuel map rows will help with this.

I keep lean spool enabled. I extend it from 2500 rpm to cutoff @ 7700 rpm. Lean spool is disabled by 7000 rpm in the stock rom. The AFR on my car is flat. Here is a 4th gear pull:

12.5 AFR during spool up
11.7 AFR @ peak
11.1 AFR by redline
Boost @ 22 psi peak and holding to 19.xx by redline

On 91 octane with random 1 count of knock.

12.1-12.2 at spool
11.5 all the way to redline

all of the above can be achieved without messing with leanspool with a proper tune... it's a crutch.

Some cars will maintain 12.9-13.0 no matter what at spool. Crutch or tuning option aside, its one more thing to play with.

Mellon why do you call this a crutch?

Some 9's can be tuned to a proper AFR at peak boost with the leanspool enabled, While others cannot, like JB said.

I've had 9's maxed out full rich 7.4 in the fuel map with lean spool enabled and they would not go richer than 11.9 at peak boost, some 12.1+, both on 91 octane is not ideal.

I haven't had any problems...sounds like someone got the injector scale wrong.

Stock injectors.

btw, sorry if the above post (GST) caused confusion, I was posting from the shop.

Not sure what the crutch comment was about. Could you elaborate?

I'm saying it's not necessary...just because the ECU has a feature you can play with it doesn't mean you have to use it.

as for the stock injector car needing 7.4 in the cells to get enough fuel... you've got another problem with that car.
