Will either of these 2 Serial to USB Adapters work?? Please enlighten!

I've found 2 on ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-to-RS232-Ser...QQcmdZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-2-0-to-9pin-...QQcmdZViewItem

Are there any others that are suggested first? I've seen some as expensive as $30+, would like to think they're cheaper then that.

Thanks

You've got to be kidding us! A $30 usb-serial adapter is too much for you? If that is true, you should not even be able to afford an Evo.

This is the ECUflash forum. ECUFlash runs off of a Tactix USB interface and does not even use a serial port. In fact, you do not even mention what you need to use the adapter for.

Perhaps you need it for a wideband O2 sensor system like an Innovative LC-1, but I'm just guessing. If that is the case, I recommend the Keyspan (part no. USA-19HS), which will work flawlessly with Evoscan, the Tactrix interface, and an Innovative LC-1 wideband. But I'm just guessing because you never even mentioned what you need the adapter for.

BTW, both of those adapters are craptastic, and I would not waste my time with them. If your time is worth anything at all, I would not waste an hour or two of it messing with that junk. Unless you work at McDonalds, you'll easily pee away more than $60 of your time that way.

I use the bestbuy one, although it is probably the most expensive it was in stock and it worked with my AEM wideband.

I use the belkin with my LC1. Innovate says as long as it has a driver with it it should work. They said get anyone except the radio shack one. But people have been getting that one to work aswell
