Lightbulb Improprt EvoFlash install????

Did you have the cable (Tactrix) when you installed the software? If you did not, then the drivers for the FTDI chip are not installed and that would cause your problem.

I believe that Ecuflash has the drivers you need for the tactrix cable.

This is a very odd situation. subscribed for pure education.

Brad, my freidn mrdevo PMed Mellon asking about the situation. He's the other one we tried doing it with also. I uninstalled reinstalled ecuflash and even went to 1.29a. I deleted the 1.33, folders and such. It says the serial cable is ready for use and picked up and installed the drivers for the tactrix cable when I originally connected it.

try: uninstalling the "tactrix cable drivers", then uninstall "EcuFlash with its drivers". then reinstall Ecuflash, then plug in Tactrix cable.

usually that error you are getting is due to low battery or bad drivers...

Should it say mitsubishi when connecting it to the car?
after reading that, i am almost sure that its your drivers. uninstall every little thing, then reinstall it. also make sure the ecuflash romdata directory etc in the options area is correct..

and also are you turning on your ignition when your trying this? haha just making sure..

When the computer is trying to install the drivers, it gives me a message saying "it may not be compatable with windows xp" and maybe this is the problem. Really sucks now.

^^ then thats not the problem. Was pretty sure it did that, but you just confirmed....that should be the standard XP "these drivers aren't properly signed so they may not work" error message.

So you tried on another machine with the same cable and different car but same ending...might be the cable...do you have access to another one?

We tried it on my car with his laptop and mine but it didn't do anything. I believe he also downloaded an older version to see if it would work. I just ordered the cable and installed everything pretty recently so I don't know. I guess it could be the cable..

I am having the same problem w/ my ecuflash now. my evo was involved in an accident 2 months ago. the tactrix cable was plugged in the whole time. now I won't be able to write nor read after i got the car back (i have flash my ecu many times b4 the accident), but I STILL CAN DATALOG USING EVOSCAN. my body shop replace the battery for me, does this has anything to do w/ the problem i am experiencing? i also borrow my buddy's laptop tonight and still don't work, could it be the tactrix cable problem?

Well Bump for it not working again. It worked for one day, and now it doenst work and I'm getting the same error. We tried it on a diff computer and another car. I also tried it with the ECU-Unlocker with no luck. The car has a small battery and I tried to warm up the cabin as I saw in other threads..any other ideas?

I'm trying to just get the NLTS on the car so it wont be so bad with the 35r.
